Just got this tent it seems to be well built and heavy which is alright since I travel on a motorcycle a whole lot smaller than the swag tent i got and a lot lighter doesn’t take up that much room and has it’s own mattress bonus I set it up on a cot when no trees are around works great simple to set up . O warm clear nights I set the canopy tarp up separately on it’s own ridge line this way I can extend over the hammock out further and have a covered place to set under I’ll be looking for a bigger tarp for this. I think in the cold months I’ll use the original tarp since it enclosed the hammock better and trap some heat in it I got a usb heating pad for the winter camping I’m sure I’ll stay warm in it. Really comfy to sleep in since I’m a belly sleeper and side sleeper a great purchase and well built. I highly recommend this hammock from this seller.

It’s a life changer. I have severe scoliosis, my spine’s shaped like an S. I love camping. Minimal gear, being outside, taking in nature. I grew up camping on the woods with a hammock, loved it. For the past 5 years, I haven’t been able to camp without a cot, mattress, and a tent big enough to house all my gear, then waking up to a stiff back, unable to walk till an hour after getting up. I thought I would have to give camping up this year, as last fall when I went camping, I couldn’t walk for days after. I came across the Haven Tent watching Outdoor Gear Review and then went down a rabbit hole of finding out as much as I could about the setup. I purchased it knowing they have a 60 day review period, and headed out this weekend when we had a surprise warming mid-March. I cannot express 2 things enough. The quality is amazing. I bought the Safari, knowing it was their sturdiest version. The stitching is great, the seam sealing is fantastic, and it’s sturdy enough to hold all 300lbs of my chubby butt. The second item is that it’s beyond comfortable. I got in and it was awkward at first, just getting used to it, I almost took a nap right there. I slept well through the night, getting used to the “bivy” feel took a bit. The most important thing, I woke up with no severe back pain. For me, it’s a life changer, knowing I can throw this in my jeep, or in my motorcycle and get a great night sleep is nothing short of a miracle to me. To those at Haven, thank you. For those on the fence, just try it.

Love the hammock! I had a small issue with the delivery and when I reached out and it was handled immediately. It’s easy to set up and it’s not too heavy for your pack. It’s very cool to be in a hanging tent. It’s definitely on the pricey side for a hammock but I’m satisfied after using it. The air mattress is a little noisy but I found if I put a blanket over it I was able to muffle the sound.

I have watched and studied hammock tents for over a year. I finally chose the Safari and wanted all the bells and whistles. I took it to Mammoth Cave National Park Camping Ground and out of the bag, I had it hanging in 3 minutes without a video or directions. I did see on a video online that there were some decorative flags but I did not see these in my bag. I am 6'3" and 300lb. I fit fine in the hammock. I am a side sleeper and it was very comfortable. The zippers are two sided, smooth and responsive. In the middle of the night, there was a violent thunderstorm that lasted from 2AM to 5AM. Wind, torrential rain, and flooding occurred. I remained completely dry inside. The tie downs and stakes are high quality. It was stable throughout the night. I toss and turn and it tolerated that very well. I was very impressed with the overall experience and it is my new-go to tent for camping! Inside the tent there are multiple large pockets to store gear. I had ~8" at the bottom of the tent to put my shoes in a bag and keep them inside. There is a canvas ribbon that extends from end to end to hang their proprietary lights on, and I hung a small fan and used it to maneuver inside at night. I did not have a powered air pump, so I used the bag that came with it. It took about 5 minutes to pump up the mattress with the bag and was very easy. I do not think I would use this one in the heat of the summer but otherwise, this was an excellent camping experience.

I understand this was a kickstarter project originally and they have an innovative design that I appreciate. I'm on the fence as to whether or not I'll keep this. Certainly too heavy for back packing for me when compared to my Hennessy and Warbonnet hammocks. I'll give you some of my nitpicks and things I really like. Pros: Overall shape/design: If you ever get on hammock forums to research camping hammocks the first question everyone asks is "what if there's nowhere to hang, what if I have to go to ground?" In this case....the answer is "nothing", just set it up like a pup tent. Fabric: Appears to be good quality. Maybe a bit heavier than needed for the fly and parts of the hammock body but I'm looking at this more from the perspective of a car/kayak camper. The pad alone is too heavy to make this a viable backpacking option for most people I think. Pockets!!!! Probably my favorite thing behind the comfort. Lots of places to squirrel away your headlamp, phone, etc once you're inside the hammock. It would also be simple enough to add some hanging storage to the ridgeline much like the Hennessy. Cons: Suspension: Not a fan of the ladder-strap setup. It's "simple" but not terribly easy to use or adjust. I'd prefer whoopie slings, straps/buckles or something else. Both of those other options being lighter as well. The straps are very short so that also limits your hanging options. And.....the included carabiners are junk. They're the cheapest steel biners I think I've ever seen with lots of little sharp edges and burrs just waiting to tear a hole in the fly or elsewhere. I'll be swapping those out immediately and maybe the whole suspension setup. Adding a 2nd light weight biner means I'll be able to leave the complete suspension/tarp attached to the hammock, but still be able to quickly attach the ends to trees. Netting/zippers: Being that I always camp when/where there are bugs, being able to remove the netting is of little to no benefit to me. Therefore....having a double-pull zipper setup makes much more sense. This way the zippers would end up in the middle of the hammock when it's zipped shut, rather than one end. For those of us getting older, reaching down to our feet or beyond our head to reach the pulls when nature calls is a hassle. They should also include some reflective zipper pulls to make finding them in the dark a bit easier. Even some of the reflective guyline included would work....but orange/chartreuse much better. Pad: Comfortable, but very heavy. The bag-pump is a little fidgety but after a little practice will work well I think. I didn't experience the foot pump design but that seems to have gone away in the current model. Tarp: A little small but I believe it will do the job. I'm a little confused on the method to connect it to the hammock body. Some videos show running the support carabiners through some reinforced slots in the ends. But....there's also a webbing loop and some smaller cheap carabiners included. The instructions are very limited so I'm watching a bunch of review videos for more information. Even their website is pretty lacking. Several other reviewers indicate the fly leaks at the points where the webbing loops are sewn on for tying back the sides. I haven't been in the wet yet to report but that does seem likely. Ventilation: The no-seeum mesh is great to keep out the critters, but doesn't so much as let a puff of air through. I was laying in a park with gusts of wind that were shaking the trees and hammock body, yet couldn't feel it at all through the mesh. Great for the cold months, not so good for summer trips. The end vents in the hammock body seem kind of a waste for this reason as well. I think they could simplify the design, delete those, and maybe reduce the cost a bit. Nitpicks: Stakes....use the "Y" style rather than the shepherds hooks. They hold much better in soft sand and are stronger. The guy lines are kind of overkill but work OK. Packaging: The stuff sack link with the flap to connect the pad is very gimmicky. It's nice to keep them together but very unnecessary. The stakes should have their own small bag just to keep from dragging sand/mud into the rest of the setup when you're packing everything away. Assuming you keep the tarp connected to the hammock body when packing up there's no need for the other medium sized stuff sack included, nor the elastic bands. Marketing: The website is big on sales, small on information. That will likely change as time goes on.

Very cool but comes with a learning curve. I've used one time and this is what I learned. Btw, I am a 30 backcountry guy, former guide that tested gear for the major companies for years. Pad keeps leaking but nothing I can do with that now. Very comfortable until the air gets low enough the crease under you then your butt is handing down more than others making it cold, uncomfortable, and claustrophobic. After one use, 1 night, my pad has a permanent crease now that is compromising the rigidity of the bottom. Other than the pad It is really well made. The bulk is a bit of a surprise too. I get the weight, but the volume is what got me. I carried a Marmot Swallow 4 season that weights the same, but half the size. Maybe I should not have purchased the Safari heavy duty. The sit up function is a bit optimistic. It does sit you up, some, but not enough to be a game changer. For the money I think the fly could have been larger and lighter given the materials out there today. I still like it better than my Emo and Warbonnette. I with the pad issue wasn't such a problem. By the time I used it I had already had it 60 days. Given I used sooner, I probably would have returned it and got the lighter version. But the light kicks ass! No complaints with the light....lol

Just received my Haven XL. We did a cool video review in our front yard. We did it without the use of the video guide or instructions to see just how out of the box user friendly it was, and again after watching the guide. This setuo took us about 10-15mins,most of it being the inflation of the mat. The sack it comes in is like are large airbag and works better blowing into it from a few inches away to maximize the air volume into it to speed up the inflation process. Decently recommend doing the rain fly portion before the mat to reduce the weight when clipping it into the carabiner. After watching the guide video, I dont intend on removing the rainfall so it will be rolled up already pre setup to speed up the setup at camps. I will be using this for a 192 mile kayak camp so will update if the product not tough enough in the field use of it. Overall the comfort level is through the roof on the lay flat system and sleep pad. I liked the fact you can raise it up to a reclining position. It was pretty 85 degrees and raining when started, then got really humid when setting it up. With the rain fly laid down, it got really hot inside, but that was understandable to keep the rain out. Mosquitos came out really quick and the netting did a good job of keep them out of the sleeping area. So far really excited to use it on the trip.

La présentation m'a conquit avant l'achat. J'utilise le hamac en bivouac, depuis quelques années. Ce mode de nuitée me plait, mais je ne trouve pas mon compte pour une nuit de repos totale. Suite à la livraison, j'ai fait un essai dans le jardin. le bivouac sera quand la météo sera plus favorable. C'est révolutionnaire ! La facilité et rapidité de montage (et de démontage - rangement), un tarp, une moustiquaire, un matelas pour être vraiment allongé. J'ai fais une sieste à l'abri, et sans quasiment pas de courant d'air, du bonheur. J'ai très hâte de le tester en condition réelle de nuitée.
