I've paired this set with a beautiful mat from a more expensive Mahjong line, and it's been great! I was looking for a reasonable second set of tiles so that more friends could play at the same time, and I am impressed with the quality of the tiles and racks. The storage pieces are simple but effective. If you want to start mahjong but don't want to commit to the pricier versions out there, this is a wonderful way to start, and you may never need to upgrade. You can splurge on one of the more decorative mats out there if you want that fancier feel. (This set does not come with a mat.)

It's been 9 months since my purchase and the set looks as good today as it did when it first arrived. My tiles came in 2 trays, so that's where they are stored, not in bags. The bag is holding up very nicely. Everyone loves how the racks and tiles have protective velcro covers. I purchased a mat separately. There are so many inexpensive, good quality mats to choose from. And no need to buy the $200 sets because, for the most part, and if you look closely, all the tiles come from the same factory (as far as I can tell.)

It is a nice set and includes everything as expected. The color is as shown —more raspberry than red — very pretty. One star removed due to a strong chemical odor. Hopefully, it will air out and dissipate, so I do not have to return. Tiles are a perfect size and a traditional style, which is preferred for new players.

I have been very pleased with this set. In addition to extra joker and blank tiles, extra flower tiles were included. The bag looks a little cheap, but I’ve carried it several places and it’s holding up well. The actual tiles feel and look great- just what I was looking for. I think it was a good value.

Great mahjong set for a great price. All parts were there, bag is sturdy, tiles were clear and good weight. Perfect for mahjong newbies for a reasonable price!! Played already! Very pleased with my purchase!!!

My friends and I are beginner players and we needed a good starter set, and this delivered. We have been using it for about six months, and it’s held up beautifully thus far. The tiles are solid and have a nice weight to them, but the set as a whole isn’t too heavy to carry around. The tiles use traditional imagery and extra flowers, jokers, and blanks are included so we are set in case any go missing. The included acrylic racks came packed in a big puffy bubble wrap type thing which kept them from damage during transport . Honestly the racks in my opinion are going to be the first to be damaged so I continue to store the racks in the bubble packaging for safekeeping. They still fit fine in the bag and are not too bulky. The bag is sturdy and easy to carry. I appreciate the zippered pocket on the inside that I store the dice, betting chips, wind indicator, and extra tiles. There is also another exterior pocket which is easy to slide you NMJL care in for storage. I am pleased with this set and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as a first set or an affordable option.
