I weighed it myself because it seemed light compared to my 45lb one. **Q: What is the tensile strength? Good for 16 year old who wants to bench/squat and use with landmine?** A: Just know it (6ft or shorter) bar does not fit with a weight rack or cage that most people use to bench press weights. But can be used with all other exercises. **Q: Is the collar smooth or ridged?** A: The collar is smooth. These are top quality bars. I have a 4ft, 5ft, and 7ft. Love them all. Great product!!
