CLAWGUARD Cat and Dog Scratch Protector Tape Roll for Doors, 4 in x 10 ft

I put this on my low windowsills near the pup's crate. I was worried about it being able to wrap around and cover the whole ledge. While it took a lot of tumb-nail pressing (I was too stubborn to use a quarter or whatever) from the middle out to prevent air bubbles, I saw that it went around the sides well. You just need to press tight to the rim edge before folding over it? I pulled it up to readjust it at some point and the wood underneath was fine. Hopefully if we need to pull it up the wood will be fine then too! Potential repainting is preferable to replacing a windowsill. I actually put this on my wall too since the xpen was bumping up against it. Works well there too! I need more - did two windowsills and a patch on the wall, only have a bit left over but I might put it everywhere. Buying more now.

This is a 5-star review not because the product is excellent (I don't know if it is or if it isn't) but because the customer service is excellent. I ordered this product thinking it was a two-sided, matte tape (it's one-sided and shiny). When I sent a query, Clawguard responded immediately! The rep was super helpful and is sending me the tape I intended to/thought I purchased. This kind of response is rare and made me happy. I'm excited to try the new tape!

I put this on the inside of the doors when I got a new car. I no longer have to worry about my dog scratching up my car’s interior when he puts his head out the window. I do wish it had a non-slip or textured surface. I’ve noticed my dog’s paws will sometimes slip on this tape. I may try to spray some texture stuff onto the tape I have left and try that in my car to see if it gives him more grip. Otherwise I’m very satisfied with this product. It’s stayed in place for over a year and a half now.

Product lasted less than 24 hrs. Says it is safe for home and pets, but my pet was able to peel it off the door and break it into smaller pieces. Thankfully he isn’t one to eat things like that because he could have easily. Plus, it took the finish off of my door when it was peeled off. This caused damage that I now need to fix. Will never buy from this brand again. Waste of money and full refund wanted.

Not terribly sticky, I tried to use it to protect the corner of my wall from the dog chewing and he just ate the strips off. Also does not work well on the corners, as it didn't have enough strength to bend. I had to cut strips and match them up at corners. It also did not stick to couch to prevent cat destruction.

These come in a pack with plenty. They work great. Simply change them out every few weeks. No residue. Easy to use, easy to remove, protects car interior near windows perfectly....and they are inexpensive. Great product.

We have a new home with wood front doors, the dog kept jumping up to see out the windows. Easy to remove and great for the space needed.

I think this would work fine in some conditions but it did not work for me. I applied this tape to the front panel of my camper where the dogs scratch to climb up to the dashboard (which is protected with fabric cover ... they sometimes go up there so they can watch for me to return.) The problem I discovered with the tape is that it is reflective and glossy which meant due to the position in which I needed the tape;, the sun glare would reflect in my eyes when driving, this was too distracting so I had to remove it. The tape is slick which I also found to be a problem when applied around the window where the dogs might but their paws. The slick surface would cause a dog to slip and potentially to be injured. The tape takes some work to put on, needs a lot of smoothing out which can take a bit of time. In conclusion one needs to carefully consider where it will go. I wound up covering the front panel area with thick cardboard with a nice picture covering it. My dog's paws will certainly scratch up the cardboard but I don't care about that. For the area around the window I wound up using weather sealer tape, paws will not slip and the area is nicely protected. I did not try it over the carpet or other areas. I think it would work well on a window but I didn't try it.

My puppy loves chewing wood so I bought this to protect my window sills. It's relatively discreet and has managed to stop the destruction.
