I knew I wanted a DeWalt, but otherwise, I sought a steel shank; plenty of power, super small size; long-lasting battery life, the versatility to handle metal work as well as wood, but also auto repair jobs, which is often. Yet, the kicker for me was the LED lighting. It's awesomely bright. You can't beat that with a stick, especially working on vehicles. Add all that up and it's a super value in my opinion. Never have I cleaned a tool on a regular basis like this one. You'll be pleased.. I know I am.
