I have used this for a couple weeks now and it does work great. Electric cooking is not ideal but if it is the only thing you have access to due to moving, the main stove going down for some reason, etc. then this is a great option to have. Even if you have to run it off a generator this unit would serve anyone well especially for the price this is selling at right now. Also, it's light but bulky so moving it around is no problem. It heats up quickly enough for electric but I recommend pre-heating it if you're following directions. Otherwise just take the pan/pot on and off as needed to control the heat.UPDATE: This thing is rather cheaply made and one of the connections for the burners is going out but what do you expect for 25 USD? I've used this thing heavily to cook off to the side and it's taken a lot of abuse so it's not surprising it's starting to malfunction. I'll probably just invest the money in a more quality unit the next though. This little set up works! Can’t speak for longevity as I’ve only had it a wk or two, but I’ve used it at least half a dozen times since received and have had zero problems. Heats up just as described and intended. The lights are also a great feature, as I only need to glance over to check if I’ve turned everything off. This is a great product for the price. Used this to cook while waiting for the replacement range we wanted. It worked beautifully in making all types of stove-top food: soup, pasta, sauteed vegetables, eggs, etc. There is a tendency of frying pans to slide around on the heating elements. There are 10 settings for each burner and both heat up very quickly. The larger burner is very hot even at low settings. For example, eggs will fry quickly at heat level 2. The burners cycle on and off, which I suppose is done to avoid overheating at any particular setting. The manual says that the heating elements can be lifted for cleaning the drip pans. Without removing the screw in the center of each element they cannot be raised.
