Energy Dark Roast Coffee Pods

Honestly, as a self-proclaimed coffee snob, I was a little weirded out at first when I read that VitaCup adds B vitamins and other minerals to the k-cup pod. I often take a B complex supplement in the morning with my coffee, and I guess I had just never thought of drinking coffee that already has vitamins added, but it's a good idea. While caffeine interferes with the absorption of some vitamins, I do not think B and D vitamins fall into that category. VitaCup French Roast Coffee is just your regular French dark roast coffee with the addition of some vitamins: specifically, vitamins B12, B9, B6, B5, B1, and D3. I have been doing some research into the established recommended daily allowance for B vitamins and how much vitamin B can be consumed per day and I found all of these vitamins to be within the prescribed limits. I would say that the vitamin content of a single K-cup is comparable to a Vitamin B complex supplement, except for the high amount of vitamin B12 added. Vitamin B12 is water-soluble and has no toxic effects in high quantities, though, so I felt comfortable trying out this coffee. I was pleasantly surprised by VitaCup. This coffee is really delicious and not overly caffeinated. It also provides a good AM energy boost. I don't have a Keurig, so I just peeled the lid off of the K-cup and brewed the contents of the K-cup in my normal coffeemaker with a couple of cups of water. The dark roast is very flavorful and you can't really taste the vitamins added at all. I have tried several other brands of K-cup coffees when I had access to a Keurig, and I found most of the grocery store and even brand-name brands I tried to be overly bitter or weird tasting. This is not the case with VitaCup. The dark roast flavor is very nice, nice enough that I can drink it black and not add additional creamer or sugar. There are only a few brands of coffee that I can drink black because I find most coffees to be very bitter and weird tasting. That is not the case with VitaCup French Dark Roast. I really want to try more flavors! My only challenge will be to limit myself to one VitaCup a day; I don't want to overdo it on the vitamins added so I might have to switch to a different coffee after my first cup. However, I am a fan of this coffee and highly recommend it.

I’m sure it will take a while to see the benifits of this coffee but right off the bat I love the taste of this mushroom coffee!!

This is the best coffee ever! I was a bit skeptical because of the mushrooms. However,it's a subtle taste and the flavor of the coffee. It's not hard on my stomach and I only need 1 cup a day. I will no longer purchase Starbucks K cups. The Kcups fit perfectly in the coffee maker. Within 1 week, I felt my energy return and more brain clarity. The cups are a bit expensive but worth every dollar as far as I'm concerned. So happy that I read the reviews and decided to give this a try.

I absolutely LOVE this coffee. It’s flavor is so amazing in the morning and it doesn’t leave me with an upset stomach like most regular coffees… I highly recommend at least trying it, and if you decide to buy more make sure to get one for your friend and spread the word about it so mushroom coffee sticks around!

Ever since I decided to focus on improving my health a couple years ago, I have made functional mushrooms a part of my daily life. The level of impact it’s made on my health is unbelievable. I barely get sick, my energy levels are incredible, and my gut health has also improved. However, I think it’s important to understand that not all mushroom coffees are equal, and it really does require a certain level of quality to fully benefit from these superfoods. I decided to try these VitaCup Keurig Pods to see what they have to offer, since the idea of it seems very quick and convenient. The taste is good, about your typical home brewed mild coffee flavor. After several days, I’m not sure if I felt much different though. The problem I faced is that nowhere on the packaging does it tell me the exact dosage of each functional mushroom I’m getting. From my knowledge and experience, it’s pretty important to know that you’re getting a pretty good dosage of these superfoods, otherwise what’s the point? A regular dose should at the least be 500mg of each mushroom. But it’s not stated anywhere. For all I know, I could be getting a tiny 5mg dose and mostly just regular coffee. I’m currently also drinking another brand called Lucid Super Coffee, which is more of an instant drink you mix with water/milk, and they are very transparent and state that each dose is about 2000mg of functional mushrooms, which is huge. Additionally, it also contains a full stack (2875mg) of nootropics as well. I’ve tried some other brands like Ryze and Mud Wtr as well, which also deliver a high amount of mushrooms, more than most brands, but I seem to keep coming back to Lucid Super Coffee. I will continue to explore more brands as they come up as it’s an exciting time that we get access to a healthier morning drink.

This was such an amazing coffee that unfortunately I used it all up before taking a picture. There wasn’t any acidity to it and it was a very smooth cup of coffee. I didn’t reorder because I didn’t really feel the energy effect that I thought I would get but it was a really nice strength and it helped with a slight boost. But everyone is different.

I do believe this is the best tasting coffee that I can find for me. It’s a little too expensive so I’ve tried others, but this has the best taste so far.

It tastes good. It’s not “wow”, but it’s ok. It definitely works. I feel more focus. Less brain fog. Perfect for Keurig.

I didn’t want to like it because of the price, but sadly it is my favourite. I have a hard time drinking other brands. I buy the Light roast, Focus & metabolism (orange box). Originally bought it because I’m breastfeeding and out of the options this didn’t have added supplements besides just vitamins, and it was also the cheapest. The flavour is the best I’ve had from a K cup, wouldn’t consider it to be light roast, to me it’s just right. I drink my coffee black and have been for 10+ years so I’ve tried many different kinds. I love that it has Vit D + B vitamins, every Canadian should be supplementing D (especially in the colder months) and the B vitamins really gives you a healthy dose of energy without being shakey. I was shocked that I actually had energy one day and couldn’t figure out what it was (as I’m a long term coffee drinker) but then realized it was this coffee. As a mom (and vegan) the supplement of B12 is extremely helpful, and with consistent supplementation of vitamin D, I get sick way less. If you drink coffee everyday it’s a great way to stay consistent with vitamins. Even if you take a multi, this is still a great addition as upper Vit D limits than currently recommended are being shown to have great benefits, and you can’t have too much B vitamins because they are excreted through your kidneys. Now at nearly $30 for 16 pods, it is $1.80 a pod. I often get a $3 off coupon, but even with that it’s about $1.60 a pod. That’s an expensive cup of coffee. For that price organic would be nice. Or a compostable pod, but I know that that may compromise how fresh the cup of coffee is. So those are the cons. But considering the convenient vitamins, how good the coffee is, and the energy you get from it, it’s almost justifiable. To save money I've been drinking it every other day or on days when I need the energy boost. But I do recommended trying, it’s great! I look forward to trying other types of Vitacup after I’m done breastfeeding.

I am not a huge fav of reviews but by reviewing this product initially it helped me decide whether to purchase it in the first place. I wasn't sure what to expect when ordering this coffee but it got good reviews so I gave it a shot. I expected to sacrifice flavour for the benefits of an energy boost and this was definitely not the case! I am a dark coffee drinker. I like it bold and so I was expecting to be super unimpressed with a light coffee roast but I was pleasantly surprised by the great taste. I enjoy drinking this coffee. I did take someone else's advice and make sure to pierce the top of the k-cup pod lightly with the needle before pressing it firmly down and have had no issues with grinds getting into my cup because you can see (when you pull out the pods) that they look rounded at the top and that this could become an issue for grounds if not handled carefully. The energy boost was amazing and instant! You can feel it halfway through drinking the cup and definitely do not need a second cup of coffee in the morning which makes the price easy to digest ; ) I use drink this coffee when I need a. Instant pick me up but not when I just want to enjoy a cup of coffee while reading my book because it does give you an instant zip. I love this product and will 100% have it delivered monthly from now on. I highly recommend for flavour and for the fact that it does what it promises!

It’s smooth and taste great. I don’t notice any increase in focus or energy compared to other coffee brands.
