Shaman drum Cow plain 20", Frame Drum, handmade

Seemingly well made and thunderous (20"). Tensions in all spots around the head seem even and it has good tone. I might try some muffling to get rid of some overtones depending on the needs of the song, but i find depending the way I hold it, especially by pressing it slightly against my body, I can vary the amount of muffling. Very cool drum!

This was on my wish list for a long time! I'm so glad I finally have it. Looks and sounds great!

The packaging was secure and the drum came on the day it was scheduled. They have done an amazing job in creating these beautiful pieces. The drum is very well built and also light weight. You can create menu beats and tones from the natural cowhide. I also bought the carrying case and that was also made from high quality materials and fits the drum perfectly. There is the drum and then the drummer. When both work harmoniously well together there is magic. Nice size and weight. The cow hide head looks almost uniform. Potent sound. Only caveat is ambient temperature needs to be 65F+ for the sound to start sounding nice.

I opened the box, the drum sounded awful, the skin was hard and almost creased quality. I ordered a replacement, that one sounded great... until the next morning, same dry texture to the drum head. Putting in front of heater helped restore the sound, but it was back to hard surface again the next morning. And so, idk if the skins are not of good quality, or it just needs to be worked / broken in. I would think for this price the skin would be dialed in already.
