How many square feet will a 10lb cover?

I put it around the perimeter of my house and used very little, i'd 10lb bag should last good while.

Does this work on grasshoppers?

I think it will work on all non-flying insects. The bag says it kills crickets, but doesn't mention grasshoppers.
