It works again!
The container of my Vitamix 5200 started leaking from the bottom several months ago. First it was just a tiny leak. I though it was from me not tightening the retainer nut enough after removing it to get a thorough wash. So ... I tightened it some more. Still leaked. Oh well ... not a big deal. Just wipe up the Vitamix top after each use. Well, it continued to get worse through the months until it was just a continual drip. Yeah ... I don't think I'm going to be blending anything with this anymore! So, in looking for a solution, I figured I'll try just replacing the rubber gasket in the blade assembly. Hey, don't judge - it's a $3 vs. a $65 fix. Can't hurt to try, right? Well, as you might have guessed, it wasn't it. Finally sucked it up and bought the wet blade assembly. It was easy to replace once I got the retainer nut off. I soaked the container itself in some vinegar for a while to get off all the build-up first. The new one doesn't sit flushed against the retainer nut -- it sinks down maybe 1/32"? Not a big deal as long as it doesn't leak on me! Been using it every morning now for a few days and it's holding up well.

Easy to replace - no need to buy the Retainer nut wrench.
Changing the blade was a very simple process. If you don't have a retainer nut wrench and don't want to buy one it is possible to use a pair of pliers to remove the retainer nut (the large metal ring on the bottom of the container). Here's how: You will notice that the retainer nut has two raised portions with a gap between them. 1. Get a pair of medium sized pliers. 2. Open them all the way. 3. The jaws should sit nicely in the retainer nut gaps. 4. Grasp the handles and turn counter clockwise while aligning the jaws in the gap. 5. This should loosen the retainer nut. ( Mine was not very tight at all) The directions that come with the replacement blade are very good. Basically once you have removed the retainer nut you will grasp the blade from the inside of the container with a cloth and pull it out. Clean anything dirty then reassemble in reverse. Drop in new assembly, lightly oil threads and secure retainer nut. During the assembly and reassembly process it is necessary to secure the container. I found it easy enough to put it on the ground and lock the container with my knees. I felt it was all pretty easy but this assumes a basic amount of coordination and being comfortable with hand tools. Good luck.

Perfect Replacement
I originally bought a much cheaper knock-off to replace my damaged assembly, which didn't work out. It leaked, didn't fit well, and was really noisy. I decided to cut my losses and go for an original replacement and am very pleased with the result. It fits perfectly, runs smoothly, and does not leak. Well worth it.

Very well made. Seems like a true Vitamix part.
Exact replacement part for my 5200 Vitamix 64oz blender. Seems like a legit Vitamix part. Well made. We’ll see if it stands the test of time. I couldn’t find any info regarding any warranty on this wet blade assembly. I asked what the warranty is and Amazons “Rufus” says its lifetime. Those that think the blades are dull are misguided. This is a blender not a food processor. While the blades are somewhat sharp they are designed to pulverize not slice. So they aren’t meant to be sharp like a carving knife for instance.

Blade appears to be genuine Vitamix brand
It installs easily with the proper tool (not included). I ordered the tool just in case it would be difficult without…well, I believe I could have done it without the tool fine, but then…why risk messing up a working product and spend even more. What is great is the instruction sheet! Not that I needed it, but it does tell you to push the blade assembly out carefully. It’s a tight fit. I just reached in and pulled out (securing container). Super easy with a little force, It also gives cleaning instructions. So kudo’s for the extra effort with instructions. Just wish the removal tool would come with it though - recommend using one unless you are mechanically inclined.

Not the same as original blade.
Blade is smaller than original.

Refacción adecuada
Las aspas de mi vaso dejaron de funcionar y no podía encontrar la pieza sola para cambiarla. Solo como consejo, fijarse bien en el modelo que viene en sus aspas para saber si es compatible con su vaso

Vitamix Cutter Replacement - Quick and Easy
I needed to replace my Vitamix cutters as they had jammed. With the aid of the Vitamix spanner, which is essential to remove the retaining ring, this was a very quick job to do. My Vitamix is now up and running without the need for an expensive new jug.
