Is it compatible with the 40 volt hartz battery

I'm not sure because I only have a Kobalt battery but this week I will be going to the battery store and see if they have a cheaper battery for this charger then I can let you know if it works with my charge if the battery is not a Kobalt.

Will this charge a Kobalt 40v max 2.5 Ah (this listing has 6.0 Ah) lithoum ion battery?

I have the Kobalt quick charger, 6Ah also. It nicely charges my 4Ah batteries. I think it will charge anything less than its max of 6Ah.

Does it work for the 4-Amp 40v battery?

Yes; I bought a 2nd charger and battery to add to what was included with the original purchase package of blower, charger, battery. The identifying information is the same on the items. I have been using them successfully for about a year.

Works for Kobalt 40

This works great for charging a Kobalt 40 V battery and was way cheaper than trying to get one through Kobalt. It didn't change the battery life or charge quality. It fits the 40 perfectly and provides the right amount of power.

Nice product

Product was in perfect shape and worked like it was supposed to. Came shipped in a clear plastic bag which kind of upset me. It’s not like chargers are made of super rigid plastic so I was surprised it didn’t break or chip.
