It will take the torque
Why did VW Audi decide they needed a special tool for head bolts in select engines? Not sure. Ridiculous as it may seem, I'll just assume they had their reasons. This tool will get the head bolts out of the VW Audi engines that use the polydrive head. It will also bear the load of the torque without twisting or stripping out. This is a good quality tool, not one time use sketchy stuff. Good luck on your head gasket job! .

Definitely worth it
This 10mm socket perfectly fits the original head bolts on my 2007 Audi a4, but the replacement head bolts I received were 11mm. I very foolishly but very carefully torqued the 11mm bolts with this 10mm tool, praying that the bolts or tool wouldn't break or strip inside the cylinder head. Be on the safe side and get the 10mm and 11mm sockets, because trying to save $12 might cost you hundreds of dollars if it doesn't work for you the way it did for me

Well made tool.
Well made tool. We needed this to for a job in our shop and the other one we had broke. The tool trucks wanted a fortune for one so we check Amazon and found this one which appears to be well made and works perfectly. We were able to get it on one day with the express shipping and it was still less than the tool truck guys.

Great tool, if you're in the unfortunate position of having to work on a VW AEG motor.
I'd love to knock a star off for having to use a stupid custom tool on VW head bolts but this isn't a review of German cars it's a review of the tool. This tool performed the one job it was designed for, and nothing else, fantastically. Of course the rest of the sockets I have also did a fantastic job of removing the hex head bolts, the difference being that normal sockets are usable in more then one place on the planet. Then again, the same people who thought it was a great idea to use a completely custom tool just on the head bolts also thought it was good to put plastic on the inside of an engine. I'm probably missing something brilliant here. Anyway... tool worked great the one time I'll ever have to use it. 2000 Volkswagen New Beetle 2.0 AEG.

This socket was the cheapest I could buy but it doesn't show at all. It's durable and would last in a mechanic's shop for years. There's no sense spending more on other sockets, it fits well and doesn't round heads at all. You can also use it to lock your cams if you hold the top of the socket (for example, while removing the variable valve timing insert)

Have used this tool for a number of years and still works as it should, was skeptical about quality; figured it would work on two bolts and start stripping heads. But 3 years later and 5 engines ripped apart still works awesome. Would recommend
