Another Great all purpose Mic and it's a Long handled Cardiod which is Rare
I first owned one of these in 2005 and it was the same price even back then and later I made the mistake of letting it go as i became more aware of its history ( being originally created for NBC IN 2000 among other things) I used this in my home studio for voice over and announcing practice and now that I own a Mic preamp in my mixer the sound of the MD 46 is even better than before. you can use this in a studio as well as the field and for completely plosive free results I recommend using a foam pop filter ( thankfully I invested in a good supply of them.) It's nice to have the MD46 Mic back in my Mic Collection after a long absence

A little pricy, but sounds soooo good
I run a video production company and I wanted to add a long handled interview mic to our audio kit so we could fit a flag on it for clients that like that branded/newsy look. This fit the bill and sounds super clean with great response and very little background noise pickup.

Top notch interview microphone
My first production with this mic was in Cologne, Germany. The mic is solid and clean. I think it even gave the interviewer greater confidence in what he was doing simply because it feels so solid. Sennheiser is a great company and I've been using their mics for over 30 years. The 421, 441, and shotguns. There are many great microphone companies out there providing the right tool for the right job. Sennheiser is definitely a top performer for audio professionals.

This microphone delivers..and so much more
I remember hearing all the hubub about this mike and I bought one to see what the big deal was. It's used by Podcaster, Mignon Fogarty, "Grammar Girl" on her audio podcasts and it delivers a really good full, solid sound. It's also used by TV reporters especially, I saw it in use back in the 2000 Winter Olympics. I use it alongside my Heil PR for Podcasting as I shoot for the best vocal sound possible. Just like the Heil, I have two of them.

A solid microphone
Love it, it keeps the sounds from the sides out pretty nicely. Haven't been able to find a better microphone for interviews. There is one video on youtube comparing this to the Rode Reporter microphone and shows that it's not very good at keeping the wind out, unless the wind is blowing at a 90 degree angle at the microphone, you won't have much of a problem. I don't think the youtube video did the sound isolation justice. There's a reason they used this mic in mid 2000's when recording the olympics.

Solid
Great Mic, it's a little weak on my Tascam DR100 MKII, but still more than Ok for interviews. Good quality

Could not be happier with this
I researched the heck out of mics before buying this. This is the exactly what I hoped for. I needed an interview mic that could also hold my company logo flag (Mic flags are those little boxes that show off the company like CNN does). A nice sized flag and still lots of room for a large hand. Interviews are amazing but it even works great for picking up base so I could not be pleased more than I am. An on/off button might have been nice but that could also be a liability so I will keep this at 5 stars.
