Excellent Speaker!! The Perfect Balance!!
UPDATE AFTER 10 MONTHS: I can safely say that I love this speaker, everything in my original review is still true! Battery life has been great, connectivity nearly perfect, sound is great for the size! I love it so much that I bought a second one to use as a stereo setup!! Snagged the second on sale a few days ago for 99$. Such a phenomenonal value at that price! The TWS Stereo connectivity is super easy to use and convenient!! After a tiny bit of setup, I just turn them both on and they pair right up in stereo. After about 1 second of weirdness when I start a new bit of content on them they sync flawlessly and truly work as stereo speakers! And the power of 2 of these things is pretty wild! My only cons that I have found After many hours of use: - They charge quite slowly, 10w I think. Not at all a big deal as I let them charge overnight if I notice the battery getting low. - On 2 occasions (and not for a long while now) there was some annoying clipping with the audio. This could easily have just been some sort of interference on that day or location. - I wish they had a pin to protect them from being paired to by random people. As I am a teacher, this has been annoying on 1 occasion in particular. Original Review: After doing lots of research I decided on this speaker. I was leaning toward the Motion Boom 2 due to its smaller size, but ended up going with this one mostly due to the Aux Jack. I am beyond happy with my purchase. I don't think that there is a better speaker on the market that strikes such a perfect balance. This speaker is the perfect balance of size/weight to volume/features as well as price to sound quality. This speaker is just loud enough for all of my uses. To give you an idea: I have used it to play music on a blacktop for 50-60 kids outside at a low volume. It was just loud enough that you could hear the lyrics of the music above the background noise. It nicely covers a basketball court sized area outside with enough volume to set the vibe. Which is very impressive for such a small speaker. When used Inside it packs quite the wallop. The mid bass that this speaker puts out is mind blowing. If you want to hear exactly what the bass player in your favorite band is doing then this is the speaker you want! All of this and it's fully waterproof to boot! Also I bought this speaker for 140$ and am super happy. I've recently seen it for 100$. At that price don't even hesitate! Just buy this speaker! Haha. **TLDR - unless you want a tiny speaker, or full PA system, JUST BUY THIS SPEAKER. This is what you want!

From a hearing Impaired User - The best portable Speaker I've ever used, period!
I have poor hearing and use high quality hearing devices. I've purchased and tried other portable high end speakers including the BOSE MINI II, a pair of Apple Mini pods, a Phillips and a HP bluetooth speaker. Even a bookshelf stereo system. While the Bose MINI II has decent audio for its small profile, it does not come close to to the full range of audio as perceived by me. The mini bookshelf system was so-so over all for audio quality; especially dialog. I struggle with dialog (spoken or sung) as well as higher frequencies and in the past vocals, the twang of guitar (acoustic or electric), violins and other string instruments were a challenge to hear fully across the frequency range. I read several non-Amazon reviews on this Anker model and all of them gave it the highest ratings including one website calling it, "the portable speaker of the year"! You may ask, how good can a review be from a person who does not hear well. My response to a question like that is, if I can hear low, medium and high frequencies now on this Anker (using my hearing devices of course) as well as the words of spoken or sung of both male and female, imagine how good this will sound to those with no or a minimal hearing loss. This is the first speaker for me that is so easy to hear for lows, mids and higher frequencies. The twang of a guitar, the beat of a drum or a Bass Guitar and most importantly dialog, lyrics, and beautiful voices of singing that all come through on this! The Soundcore app works quite well on my iPhone and iPad. I enjoy the equalizer preset settings which work well under most circumstances, but, having the ability to custom tailer all of the frequencies and save them under a custom name are a blessing for me. The app gives you full access for tweaking all frequencies and saving as many as needed for future use! I've got some older music CDs ripped for streaming and a few of them actually sound far better using my custom settings then the pre-sets in this App. I will say again that the pre-sets seem to work well for most listening though. The default setting called "balanced" works well for me. Sometimes turning on the enhanced BASS setting is needed, but, if a piece of music is heavy on the BASS, I turn it off and still have sufficient BASS for that track. Dialog often does -not- need the enhanced BASS turned on because human voices are typically in the middle frequency ranges, not lower where deeper BASS is. Voices even without enhanced BASS on are fine for fullness and depth (they sound realistic). As for build quality, the outer casing for this Anker Motion Boom Plus is solid and well made. The speaker grills are heavy gauge and the lugs where you attached the strap are solidly made of metal! Given the excellent reviews by the PROs (CNET, etc) on line for this Anker model as well as the many 5 star Amazon reviews and other websites by owners/users, .....honestly,...none of them are inflated. The high ratings exist for a reason, this speaker is exceptional! This "boom box" offers some exceptional audio quality along with clear dialog and very sufficient BASS and if it works for me being hearing impaired, as I said, it will work even better for those who do not suffer any hearing loss. My only regret now is that I did not buy a pair to pair of them to use together in Bluetooth as left and right stereo and I will be ordering a second one soon to do just that! 5 Stars all around, I'm so delighted to have finally found a portable sound system that I can hear so very well no matter what I am streaming to it! The App alone deserves 5 stars and it is a vital asset for those wishing to fine tune their audio experiance.

Excellent sound quality and projection, unbeatable portability, and good battery life ~2 years in
These are extremely high-quality small speakers! I've had em for just under two years now, and they are a perfect remote speaker set to live by my bedside, as I love to listen to music and podcasts in bed. I really really appreciate the sound quality and projection of these speakers, and that was the prime motivator for my purchase - they have excellent sound reproduction and balance across the spectrum, even and including bass, but they don't massively overemphasize bass like many other portable speakers attempt to do. I also have the Soundcore Motion X600 in my bathroom, and that is a great piece of kit as well also with particularly excellent sound quality. Battery life for the Soundcore Anker MBP appears great, although I do keep this plugged in all the time since it's just used as a remote speaker. Just a few small quirks that are worth noting: It's relatively very simple to setup, but do be warned that if you pair both your computer AND your smartphone as sound sources, the Soundcore Anker MBP will *always* attempt to pair with your phone and play music from it by default when you turn the speaker on. The other thing to note is that every once in a while, the audio playback will sound very garbled when you first turn it on - but when that happens, I just power the Soundcore off then on again and it works perfectly once again. My ONLY real abiding gripe, and the reason my *real* rating would be 4.75, is that NONE OF THESE UNITS CAN TURN ON REMOTELY. THEY DON'T COME WITH REMOTES, AND BLUETOOTH CANNOT ACTIVATE OR DEACTIVATE THEM EITHER. There's absolutely no excuse for that in the year of our lord 2025 - especially not when the small Sony Wi-Fi speakers that these Soundcores replaced had remote controls and those were manufactured around *2005!* Also, you can't play the same content simultaneously across multiple speakers, but that wasn't a huge need for me. One more flag is that if you're playing audio from a Windows computer, you will need to seek out open-source apps to let you dynamically switch your audio outputs without digging through menus (for example, when switching audio from your main computer speakers to this Soundcore MBP). I use AudioSwitch on Windows 11, in case anyone reading this is looking for a similar solution - and that one works pretty perfectly once you set it up properly for your computer. In conclusion: If you're looking for a portable speaker, you will likely NOT find better-quality sound or a more truly-portable form factor anywhere else. Just know that if you're setting it as a permanent remote speaker, you'll have to be prepared to climb over whatever furniture this is hiding behind to turn it on or off!

Unbelievable sound from small package
Ok, I was looking for the best bluetooth speaker I could find to play both at home and to take with me when I travel. I had heard a speaker someone had at the beach called the Tribit Stormbox Blast which sounded amazing. As I looked for that one I saw this Soundcore Boom Plus. The reviews for each were very similar. I decided on the Soundcore because of it's much lighter weight, the shoulder strap and because it's by Anker, a brand I trust. The Soundcore is amazing. It's hard to believe that a speaker this light and inexpensive can sound so luxurious and the sound stage is incredible. Even outside the sound is big and fills any space. The C type charger is cool as I don't need another cord. The 24 hour battery life is more than sufficient. The equalizer is the best. Fast forward - A few weeks later for a company event I was curious to see if I could purchase an even better speaker. I bought the Tronsmart Bang Max because people in the reviews compared if favorably to a premium JBL product. I played the Tronsmart with different types of music, different equalizer settings, indoor and out and I just never felt satisfied. Although it's much larger, has roughly twice the amps and 3 times the weight the sound didn't hit hard enough and the sound stage was not as good as the Soundcore. I returned the Tronsmart. Then I bought the Tribit Stormbox Blast. Wow. This thing is cool with it's led light show and massive thump. It's 10 more amps than Soundcore and much heavier and it hits hard. Incredible sound. I played both the Soundcore and Tribit for friends. We could not decide which was better. The Tribit has a tiny bit more bass. The Soundcore has a better sound stage. I'm keeping both. The Soundcore will be the one I travel with as it's super light weight and a bit more narrow. It fits in my backpack and adds little weight to a suitcase. I'm keeping both and will use them both about equally. Soundcore rocks! Buy with confidence

By far the best boombox Iโve ever had!!!!!
Review for Motion Boom Plus. What a great time we live in! The volume, the bass, the sound quality- top notch. And being able to buy it during BF for $120?, made it a relatively painless purchase. It started at closer to $180. So- as much as I love it, I need to get this out of the way- Iโm really disappointed with the battery life. I use it so much that having a good battery life is super important to me. It gets about 30-40% less battery life than Iโd like and expected. This is the only real knock I have on this outstanding boom box, and is the only reason Iโm knocking off a point for what is otherwise a solid 5 Star bit of kit. I ride in a bicycle social club, about 40-50 of us take to the streets with analog and ebikes and cruise along the beach, stop, cruise some more, get food, etc. Itโs wonderful having a boombox with such great sound that I can wear around my neck and blast out tunes for everyone. It does pretty well outside, which of course is the hardest thing for any speaker to do given thereโs no walls for sound to bounce off of. I actually have another boom box, bought some years ago, that beats this one, the Klipsch KMC3. That sucker has dual 4.5โ woofers! But it weighs half again as much, no built-in batteries, no strap or carrying handle. As a stationary speaker for TV, itโs excellent, but for everything else Iโd take this guy in a heartbeat. I like having the onboard EQ, saves having to dig one up from whatever device Iโm using. Love the strap, itโs highly adjustable. The weight for the sound quality is excellent. The sound quality is very good, rich, and having the BASS button on top is very helpful. Some things I wish it had/did: these are preferences, and unlike the battery, donโt deserve to have points taken off: - For general use, the ON button needs to be illuminated, brightly, and why isnโt it placed as the first button from the right? It needs to be to the very most far right so that, in the dark, or when youโre reaching and canโt see it, that button is right where you need it to be, the first and most obvious button you come to. - Riding with it around my neck on these bike rides, I sure wish it was more ergonomically designed: The volume Plus/Minus buttons could be designed so that as Iโm feeling for them itโs completely obvious what they are and where they are. And they need to be more tactile, thereโs a slight click with minimal pressure, which is nice, but they need a stronger click or way of registering that youโve pressed it - I wish theyโd separate the Pause/FF button in the middle so that it was easier to find by feel. Also, that it included a triple press for going back Long story short- Iโd love to give it a full 5 star rating, it really is an outstanding speaker for the money. But battery life needs to be improved! That said, Iโd still buy it again in a heartbeat.

Best Bluetooth music player out there.
Iโve had mine for almost 2 years now. Battery is still great itโs LOUD for its size. Very easy to use! Works on all my devices! The quality of this thing is up there with Beats by Dre. Iโll be buying another one of these if this one ever breaks! It has sat outside here in Florida for 90% of the 2 years Iโve had it and on my boat in saltwater with no issues. Buy this for the price!

Awesome - But Keep In Mind I am an old Guy!
I'm 68 yrs old and have some hearing loss. I have been after a bluetooth portable speaker that met my needs and wants for a while but with all the ads and hype it is difficult to know what you really want until you listen to it. Not having had the opportunity to personally hear one ahead of time I did research like a lot of us older people do. In my case money was not a factor but I didn't want to spend more than I needed to or go through the back and forth to find what I was pleased with. Due to the reviews I read and review videos I watched I chose the Anker Soundcore Motion Boom Plus Outdoor Speaker with 80W Booming Sound. The deciding factor was a comment made by a reviewer in his video. 'If you are like me and like some bass in your music then this is the one for you' or something to that effect. That did it for me and received the first one 3 days later. Awesome does not describe what I had been hoping for. In my humble opinion this is absolutely what I had been looking for. Clear, crisp sound with that bass you like. Even the older songs (by my standards) of the 60's, 70's, 80's and some 90's now had that oomph I remembered. I was raised on classical music and now even those have the depth of sound I have been looking for. For a small unit like this it is incredible. In all the reviews I had read one of the things the reviewers talked about was the cheap look of the unit. Yeah a lot of plastic but I was not buying it for the material and looks, just the sound. I didn't care what it looked like as long as it sounded the way I wanted and expected and I got that. If you are looking for something that 'looks cool' AND sounds good go ahead and spend the money for it. There is no 'better one' or 'best one' out there no matter what you might think. If you ever find what you think is the 'best one' it will only be that way a few months until the next generation come out. There is only the one you like and are happy with and I am more than happy with my choice. The bass is deep, rich and booming (if you like that kind of thing) and does not drown out the the rest of the spectrum. With my flawed hearing everything is clear from the bottom to the top. For the price you can't beat it, IMO. Now about my earlier comment about the first one. During my research it was noted that you could pair two of them for TWS (True Wireless Stereo). I like my music like others do and this got my attention so 4 days later my second unit arrived and after unboxing it it took all of 30 seconds to have them paired and separated. Oh WOW! is the only way I can describe it. One by itself sounds awesome, paired with another is something I am not able to describe at the moment. I now have a full symphony orchestra in my small living room and when I switch to the rock and roll and more popular music of my generation I have a sound stage to listen to. Is one unit sufficient? Most definitely and it is more than you might expect but why have just one when you can have two? We are all different and have different likes and dislikes when it comes to music for whatever reason. All I can say is if you can hear one before purchase you will be surprised. And if you decide to purchase and then hear it like I did you will not be disappointed. Are there bigger and better? I am sure there is but the next release of portable speakers such as this by whoever makes them will outdo the previous ones one way or another from a technical point. The technical parts are important in a product but the bottom line is not the science or what is on paper but what it produces. To some it may look and feel cheap for whatever reason but it is solid and having it IP67 rating is not a bad thing either even though I have no intention of putting mine in the shower, pool or the creek out back. It probably will not fit in with most decors but in my case, who cares? I wanted sound the way I like it and that is what I got. Keep in mind that your sound source has a lot to do with what you hear. In my case it is my phone with a 256GB SD card that has 40GB of MP3 audio files. I am surprised the neighbors have not made a noise complaint yet.... but it is still early. Thank you Soundcore for a very good product that does what it was intended to do, good clear music with the deep, loud, booming bass a lot of us like.
