Tub : Automotive Review: My first impression - I use grease on the slide of my 1911 and CZ pistols. It is a 'creamy' one and works great but I wanted to get 'sticky' grease for my new PPQ Q5 as its slide to frame fit is super loose (it is a rattle snake literally but very very accurate due to its super tight lockup of the barrel). I put this stuff on the slide and barrel, and shot in USPSA today. I wanted to share my first impression. It smells pretty strong compared to what I am used to. This stuff is sticky and does not feel slick. I definitely do not use this grease on my tightly fitted 1911 and CZs unless I mix it with WS CLP to change the consistency a bit but it works with the PPQ. The PPQ is my first polymer pistol and the first thing that I noticed was 'plasticky' gliding noise when I racked the slide. I do not know how to describe it but you probably know what I mean if you have both full metal pistols and polymer ones. With this grease, the noise is almost gone! I guess that this sticky grease adheres to the surface better. I take it as a good sign. It was a very cold day. The temperature was lower 40s. Shot about 150 rounds with no problem. The low temperature did not affect how the slide felt. The pistol ran like a well lubed Swiss watch all day. I came home and was curious about the grease so I took it apart and found fairly clean grease in it. It looks like I can continue shooting for many rounds between cleanings. I will use this grease on the BCG of my AR as well. I may get the CLP as well when the stock of my current lube is gone.
