I like the olive color, unique & stands out at baggage claim against the sea of black on black suitcases...but it's still classy & reserved, not loud at all. The expansion mechanism is innovation at its best, works great. It's a bit unnerving to collapse it the first few times, the racheting action makes it sound/feel like you're breaking something...but that's exactly how it is designed to work & I assume it will last the life of the bag, which I expect to be very long. The flat bottom interior design (no intrusion from telescoping handle mounts) is great & really maximizes packing volume. One ding...the telescoping handle itself, when extended: feels a bit flimsy, especially if you grip the handle and twist left/right like you would a doorknob. Not saying this is an intended/necessary way to regularly use the handle...just an observation that it might be vulnerable to damage under stress. My 22" Travelpro rollerbag is very nice (half the price), yet far inferior in many aspects to this B&R model...the handle/wheels are not one of them. The Travelpro telescoping handle is ROCK SOLID by comparison when extended, I doubut it will EVER suffer damage severe enough to compromise its function in any way, whereas I could see the B&R handle possibly getting bent or not retracting properly with intense wear. The wheels on the B&R bag are very nice and their hard/solid design may be extremely durable, time will tell...but the Travelpro rollerblade-style wheels are a DREAM, the thing rolls like a 1978 Cadillac Deville...on a cloud made of silk

Briggs & Riley is famous for it's top of the industrie's quality and reputation. It also have no sale policy, so whereever you purchase it from, you will expect same price of the product. Now, if you buy this from Amazon, you will NOT receive complementary personalized monogram. You need to order monogramed label from Briggs & Riley for $15 plus shipping, eventually. So, before you purchase this product from Amazon, think twice...... ;)

I intentionally waited to review this item, given its purpose (travel luggage). I have now travelled extensively with this bag internationally and throughout North America (including Prudhoe Bay, Alaska), South America, and Europe. By plane, train, and automobile. Briggs & Riley is the ONLY luggage I own now. It is simply the best. Made in the USA (New York State), metal zippers, awesome organization. The icing on the cake? A full replacement/repair lifetime guarantee!!! That's right. These New Yorkers are so confident in their product that they even warranty mishandling damage. Wow. If you travel and you don't use Briggs & Riley luggage, then you're simply uninformed. I now own multiple B&R pieces of luggage, from their insanely large rolling duffel, right down to my day-to-day work/travel backpack. When it comes to luggage, totes, duffles, or backpacks: Briggs & Riley is the only brand I will consider. Best luggage in the world. Hands down.

Briggs and Riley is a very reliable brand of luggage. Our entire family has several pieces which have lasted many years, and we will continue to use it. This latest purchase was a gift.

If one enjoyed the old Hartman 22" 2-wheeled carry-on, they'll likely enjoy this revised Briggs & Riley suitcase. With luck, the B&R will survive as many miles (and much mistreatment) as its predecessor Hartman roll aboard.
