Shimano Deore Rd-M5120 Rear Derailleur

This thing exceeded my expectations. I was upgrading my mountain bike from a 3X9 to a 2X11. The clutch feature is awesome. I have not had a single chain slap or chain disengagement from the chain rings. It keeps good tension on the chain to prevent both of those situations. However,I did have to adjust the clutch out of the box, because it was set too tight from the manufacturer. Once I learned how to do it it was fairly simple. You can find out how to do it on YouTube. Like I said, though this is far exceeded my expectations: it shifts cleanly, and the clutch feature (I didn’t even know was a thing) was a nice surprise.

I put this on my vintage GT mountain bike as part of an updated 1x drivetrain. Works great! It shifts perfectly with very easy set up. Don’t make the mistake I did… I first tried to pair it with a 11-48 cassette but quickly realized it wouldn’t work, looked closer at the description, and saw that it maxes out with a 46t gear. No big deal though. Got an appropriate cassette and it all came together perfectly.

I bought this as part of an upgrade frenzy on my 1x7 Schwinn Boundary. The original rear hub failed, so needed a new wheelset... which meant I could upgrade to a cassette... which meant I needed a new derailleur... you get the idea. I got this 10s Deore derailleur, a 10s Deore cassette (11-46t) and a 10s Deore shifter. Everything works great together, super fast and smooth shifts, no slips over the 20 miles I have put on it so far... however the derailleur doesn't hang low enough to engage the 2 biggest sprockets. Bought a Wolf Tooth roadlink which should solve the issue, but beware the frame of your bike could necessitate a similar solution. Other than that, highly recommend.

Easy to install , clutch is a useful feature. When set up properly the chain stays where it belongs at all times .

Das Schaltwerk scheint solide verarbeitet zu sein. Es schaltet die Gänge sauber und geschmeidig durch. Kein Ruckeln, Kratzen oder sonst irgendwelche komischen Geräusche. Dies hier habe ich für Das MTB Ebike meiner Frau genommen. (Kassette Sunrace 10 Gang 42/11 Zähne). Auch die Kette (Ebike 10 Speed) läuft präzise durch das Schaltwerk. Ich tät sagen das Teil ist gut verarbeitet und wenn die Schaltung eingestellt ist. Läuft alles wie ein Uhrwerk. Klare Kaufempfehlung. Und das Beste Die Frau ist glücklich damit.
