I'm going full time solar?** A: Nameplate says unit draws 1.6 amps during ice making operation, and 2.6 amps during ice harvest. In my experience, the unit runs about 95% in ice-making mode. In our experience, cycle times are about 15 to 20 minutes per batch after first batch. **Q: Does the ice melt if you don’t take it out right away?** A: No the ice does not melt right away. We leave our unit on all the time as our main ice maker. This is a great product. **Q: Whats it mean when the green lights flashing and not making ice?** A: Thank you for contacting Newair. The flashing lights and the unit not making ice may indicate an issue with the sensors in the unit. Kindly please contact our support line (855-963-9247) or email support@newair.com so that we may assist you in resolving this issue. Best Regards, Customer Care **Q: Can you put a 5gallon water tank on this?** A: No. It has a built-in storage area for the water which holds about a quart. When it needs water to be added, a red light comes on. It makes great ice, but is not intended for commercial use. ## Frequently Bought Together - Newair Silver Countertop Ice Maker Machine, Compact Automatic Ice Maker, Cubes Ready in Under 15 Minutes, Portable Ice Cube Maker, Perfect for Home/Kitchen/Office/Bar - 4 Ounce Stainless Steel Ice Scoop - Plastic Ice Bags 8 Lb with Draw String - Pack of 50 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fr/products/432966723-newair-clear-ice-cube-maker-machine-40-lbs-of-ice](https://www.desertcart.fr/products/432966723-newair-clear-ice-cube-maker-machine-40-lbs-of-ice) --- *Product available on Desertcart France* *Store origin: FR* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
