Study plastic that has a nice stable base, but difficult to take readings through the plastic haze. Won't break like glass would, but you may want to throw it anyway after repeatedly trying to take a fuzzy hydrometer reading.

No need for an expensive metal measuring container when this works just as well and for a much lower cost. Holds up to the heat, is long enough, good diameter, and is strong. Only missing a handle which is no big deal. It works well for me. A great buy.

This is an excellent product at the price point. I tested it against a much more expensive glass cylinder that I own and it matched up nicely. I darkened the raised numerals with an indelible black marker so my old eyes could see them better. Overall this is hard to beat for the cost. The base is wide enough to be stable and as another reviewer mentioned the raised graduations also work well as a handling aid to holding it when your hands are wet. I cannot understand why anybody would rate this unit less than five stars. It is an accurate cylinder for a very reasonable price. What else do you want?

got for making mead and measuring stuff. plenty wide enough for a hydrometer and easy to measure and pour stuff. Better investment than glass. Cleans well and doesn’t shatter when dropped

Does exactly what you require it to do. Not sure if it's scientifically accurate but all I needed it for was to perform automotive fuel and DEF volume testing, I also bought one to measure out chemicals for my hot tub
