A breezy easy but very enjoyable read of all of their albums. I truly love this band and is obvious Popoff does too.. It's a nice layout of all their albums discussed by twenty muscians who give a brief but solid review of every album. There are some pictures in here I haven't seen before and many that I have but are nicely laid out and compliment each album. It's a nice yearbook style cover and will last a long time. This is a nice upgrade from Contents Under Pressure. If you love Rush like I do this is a mostly known but equally revealing book! Worth it! Review: Album by Album" is a great read for any true Rush fan - "Rush: Album by Album" is a great read for any true Rush fan. I really enjoyed the insights from so many different people whom I respect. It's interesting reading opinions (some that mirror mine, others that stand in contrast) and learning some of the little-known backstories about each album. I have the entire Rush catalog and this has inspired me to go back and re-visit some of the music that I haven't listened to in awhile, i.e., the synth-heavy albums from the 80's. Rush has been my favorite band since I first discovered them (when "Hemispheres" was released) and I've always been able to count on them to challenge and inspire me.

Book of Rush!
Nice looking book. Lots of pics. Hard cover. I'm a Rush guy. It looks like a good read. Bought it for a fellow band member.

Good book, packaging bad
Product was great but the packaging was not good. It was in a bigger box with no stuffing so the book was moving in the box and scratched. So not happy about it. Otherwise the book is really nice and good as a gift to rush fans.

A great insight on one of rocks greats....
Great book & concept by Martin Popoff, who has done a couple other works on Rush, as well as many other works on BOC, which is another favorite of mine. In this title he enlists other major fans, such as Jeff Gilbert & Michael Langevin (drummer, lyricist, & artist for Voivod) to provide their opinions & critique of all Rush's albums. A very interesting read. I've already been through it at least 3 times since I got it back when it came out.

Excellent book about Rush and their albums
A must have for any Rush fan. I love the comments and how the albums were viewed by each individual. The background info on each album was excellent, tying in what was going on within the band at the time, and in the music business in general. The pics were great, too. After reading this book, I will be listening to some of the albums I haven't listened to in a long time as I have forgotten how much I liked them.

If you've read any of Martin Popoff's books, you know that he primarily uses the "Chapter per Album" approach to trace a band's career.. You may also know that he has written 2 previous Rush bios,Contents Under Pressure ( 2004) + An Illustrated History.(2013).Since he has already documented the band so thoroughly, what's left to add ?? Quite simply, other people's viewpoints and anecdotes on the music of Rush. This book is essentially a round-table discussion. The guest contributors range from famous musicians to past Rush roadies,to rabid Rush collectors. One and all are very articulate & know their Rush stuff,inside-out.. This gives the book an "every fan's" feel & perspective.Martin moderates the discussion, but leaves most of the chat to his guests. As a fan of both Rush & Martin Popoff's work,I think this fresh approach works very well. The book is a feast for the eyes,as well. Lots of pics, concert flyers, posters, print ads,45rpm singles ( remember those ?) Even if you own the prior books,Album By Album is well worth having
