I’ve been using this to sweeten my hot tea with and really love it. Unfortunately I’ve run out of it. So, I started using another brand but it’s no where near as good in flavor as this one. The quality is great and the consistency is thick but not too thick. Maybe slightly thinner than honey. It’s rich in magnesium, potassium and antioxidants. I prefer this over sugar any day. It’s a bit pricey but I feel like a little goes a long way.

I just love this stuff -- it came to the rescue of my pancakes today (when I ran out of yogurt topping), and I'm looking forward to discovering all the places it can be used! This low glycemic sweetener comes in an attractively labeled glass bottle with a snap up lid that makes it easy to shake out just a little, which is all that’s needed! PROS: 1. Sweet, with a mild date flavor 2. It’s got a similar thickness to maple syrup (the perfect viscosity for pancakes imho) 3. Low glycemic index, so it’s said to raise blood sugar more slowly than maple syrup (even real maple syrup) 4. Nutrient dense 5. Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Vegan, no added sugars. 6. No sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners. 7. The bottle has a Central California Kosher (CCK) symbol on it. Considerations: 1. It doesn’t say whether to refrigerate after opening, and evidently there’s a debate about what’s the best storage method. Who knew? 2. For fans of the D_te Lady’s products, this has a thinner consistency and slightly lighter color. 3. The snap-up lid doesn't allow for "pouring" while attached to a glass bottle (which is actually great - as you don't' need much). This appears to be a delicious, concentrated sweetener by an apparently reputable company. About the Company/Brand: This product is made available by Noor Date Company, Inc. They have a profile on Bizprofile dot net. It appears that they at least source some of their dates and or products from the middle east, which I would expect. They have an entry in the CCOF certified organic foods directory (though they don’t claim this is an organic product). While I can’t easily find brand trademark activity, I do find evidence of them protecting their brand name, which I find reassuring. The associated Corona, CA business address is for NFI (Natural Food Ingredients) which appears to be a logistics operation that’s been in business since 1932.

It came in a plastic bag and it was sticky on the inside of the bag and the bottle itself was very sticky and the label looked like it had wear and tear on it.

Great tasting syrup that works in pancakes, salad dressings, and other types of food making it super versatile. The syrup has a thicker consistency than real maple syrup. This works very well at replacing sugar or maple syrup, while giving food a deeper flavor. The bottle spout isn't ideal and my bottle arrived with some leakage. In terms of value, this is more expensive per ounce than other alternatives but its worth the splurge.

I love dates, and I love eating treats sweetened only with dates. This date syrup is such a great idea and an easier way to sweeten things than using whole dates. Unfortunately, the seal on my bottle failed. I still took a tiny taste, but I was afraid to eat more than that due to the lack of seal. The flavor was good though also distinct and strong. It made me think of something like molasses. Whole dates seem more generically sweet to me for some reason. I would still use this though. I hope the company figures out how to make the seal stronger.
