Reliability
Exceptional battery that lasts me two days on my A7R3 before I need to recharge it. The only negative is the price. For years, it has been $78, or lower when on sale, which is expensive in the first place, However, now it is $88 at Amazon and reaching $100 at some brick and mortar stores. There is no new tech advancement in this battery so the price increase is a pure money grab. Don't tell me that it is tariffs.

I only use sony ohm batteries. no point in taking a chance on 3rd party batteries is such expensive equipment. just spend the extra and protect the investment you made in that nice camera.

Pricey but worth it.
The battery is great as it lasts basically all day shooting stills and video on my a7riii. I bought this battery as an extra just in case I forget to charge my battery or if the day provides that many photo opportunities that I can’t pass up. The price is fairly steep but as they say by once cry once. I feel better knowing that I will only really need 2 of these batteries b/c of their lifespan and ability to hold a charge over a few days of inactivity. Beginner, novice, prosumer or pro you do need this battery.

No yellow battery cover
I wish they specified that these no longer seem to come with the plastic cover to protect the leads. I ordered two and both didn’t have them. I almost thought these were counterfeit because I have a official battery that came with it, but upon further inspection they appeared to be legit.

Word to the wise.
In colder climates these batteries are shipped from and stored in cold warehouses. This causes the battery to semi-freeze and appear to be faulty when you receive them. It takes hours to finally thaw and begin to charge, so be patient, they're perfectly fine.

This is why Sony batteries are better than generic brands
I’ve been using Sony batteries for 30 years. Their batteries can stay charged for years, while generic brands will start losing their capacity rapidly. I had some old Sony batteries that were fully charged and sitting on the shelf for over three years. I went to use them and they still had 90% charge. These are the best batteries you can buy. Lots of quality control issues with aftermarket batteries.
