Good for long walks
I’ve been very impressed with my Merrell Moab 3 walking shoes. They were comfortable pretty much straight out of the box and provide a really good combination of cushioning, support and stability without feeling overly restrictive. The Vibram sole gives excellent grip and feels reassuring on woodland paths, gravel, uneven ground and general countryside walks. I particularly like the solid feel underfoot and the protection around the toe, while the mesh sections help keep them reasonably breathable. They feel very well made and more substantial than an ordinary pair of trainers, but are still comfortable enough for longer walks. The fit has been excellent for me and I’ve had no problems with rubbing or needing a lengthy breaking-in period. If you want a dependable walking shoe rather than something overly lightweight or fashionable, the Moab 3 is an excellent choice. Comfortable, tough and confidence-inspiring underfoot. I’d happily buy another pair.

Value for money.
I’m usually a size 9 to 9 and a half but when getting these they were to tight at the toe so i ordered the 10 and they fit perfectly so I would suggest going up a size or at least a half size. The pair I returned I used Royal Mail return so the parcel was picked up at my address and the postman had label with him so that made things so much easier. I have done a couple of 10 mile hikes and they are very good. I usually wear hiking boots but I thought I would give these a try since I have heard good things about them over the years and I’m pleased I did. They are really light but also comfortable and keep my feet dry when walking through wet brush and a very good price under £100. I would certainly recommend to people looking for an alternative to Boots for the not to demanding hikes.

Favourite walking boots
***Update after a week of hill walking - one star removed due to design faults in Merrell Moab 3 compared to the original Moab. The new sole is by far worse than the original Moab. It feels stiff and has a wrong profile. There is no feeling that the sole of the boot is an extension to your skin, although the boots are still usable and do not cause injury. The best boots for dry weather. Choose 0.5 larger UK size than you usually wear.Left to right in my photos are Merrell Moab Ventilators (no Goretex membrane) bought in 2019, 2022 and the new pair of 2026 Moab-3. The first two pairs were used hard, and the oldest pair was also used in garden, construction and auto DIY work after a replacement was bought in 2022. So, they are robust, and damage is limited to sole/insole wear, although both are still usable, and a superficial tear of the lining at the upper edge at the back. In winter of 2021 I also had Moab GTX (with Goretex membrane), but they started leaking within two months, the black patch in front cracked in the following winter (on the outer side), and they were unbearably hot in summer. So, the simplest Moab Ventilators are my favourite. They are comfortable, well cushioned, supportive, and not hot in any summer adventure, including English, Scottish, Welsh, French and Spanish forests/hills/mountains, but all in dry weather. For wet or snow one needs a different boot anyway. The new Moab-3 are slightly different from the first model, their sides are now weaker, the sole is less technical, but the area of breathable mesh is increased. Recycled materials are now used in the upper webbing, inner lining and laces, which cuts their service expectancy from 4 down to about 2 years, doubles the customer costs and pollution per item of the product. The old two pairs were alright for driving a car, not sure about the new Moab-3, as its sole is basic and does not allow the same feel of the pedals.I wish I could buy the original model, but it is now discontinued.

Excellent
Fits really well - sizing is bang on. Looks good and are incredibly comfortable. They nicely grip the road or pavement, even when it's wet out. I've worn Merrell Moab 2 shoes for years and expect these to be every bit as good and long lasting.

Love these boots. Had the version 2 and 1.Last a long time. Great support. Great multifunctional boot for everyday wear or trekking a trail for mixed weather conditions..As said, I've had previous versions of this boot and would happily recommend for its durability, quality, comfort, weather resilience and value for money.

What a great boot
I had worn my previous Karimoor walking boots into the ground and now was the time to replace them. I was just delving into my new foot are phase and diligently researched all types of walking boots/shoes, within my budget of course. I would read reviews and then check the price on some and think I could but a second hand runaround car for the same price as some of those shoes, you know the ones I'm talking about, the ones made of yak skin that have been made by wizards in DUMB's. So after doing my research I took a chance on the Merrell bad boys and am so pleased I made this choice. Sturdy, solid comfort, and they look great too. Only thing I would question is the waterproofness of them, maybe I need to dub them up, I'll try this and report back. Other than that I would say go for it, go for Merrell.

Brilliant hiking all-rounder. Go up half a size. Really happy.
Bought these for walking in wet Somerset conditions and they’ve been spot on. Read previous reviews (glad I did) and went up half a size (9.5 to 10) and these have been a perfect fit straight out of the box, no rubbing, and great support even on longer walks. The waterproofing actually seems to work, so far at least - dry feet through mud, puddles and rain and the grip feels solid on mixed terrain and wet grassy slopes. So pleased 🤗

Comfortable out the box
Heard that this is a little heavy but it was fine to me. Comfortable out the box and served me well for my recent hikes in New Zealand. Would highly recommend for its price and comfort
