purchased the Casio scientific calculator for my son, and it has been an excellent tool for his schoolwork! The calculator is incredibly user-friendly, with clear, well-labeled buttons and an intuitive layout that makes it easy to use for both basic and more advanced math problems. The display is large and easy to read, which helps reduce errors when solving equations. I love the fact that this calculator is solar powered. Since you are not likely to use this in the dark it is very convenient to never have to be concerned about whether or not the battery is charged. i have had one of these for quite a few years and it has never failed yet. The only drawback for me is that I used calculators from HP with Reverse Polish Notation rather than algebraic entry for over 40 years and it takes a lot of getting used to. But I know most people don't have that issue so this is a really good calculator for not much money.

All of the key scientific functions packed into a purely solar-powered calculator that actually fits all the way into a shirt pocket. That's right, no internal battery, and it's thin and small. An easy to read one-line display. Along with scientific functions, it can do some stats and has a random number function. It does polar to rectangular and rectangular to polar conversions. At under $10, get one for home and office.

I currently have two of these in my home, and soon it will be three since this is an approved calculator for my kids’ school. That being said, it’s a calculator, and it does what it’s supposed to do. My main issue is with the solar power. My oldest daughter usually does her schoolwork at night, and after working for a while, the display starts to fade, making it difficult for her to see the numbers. She then has to put the calculator outside in the morning so it can get some light before school. Of course, she sometimes forgets it outside, which is honestly more frustrating for me than it is for her! My middle daughter does most of her work during the day and has no issues with it. Overall, it works well for basic schoolwork, but I don't think the solar power holds up well when the calculator is used frequently at night. For that reason, I’m giving it 3/5 stars.

This is, without a doubt, one of the best 'science and day-to-day' calculators you could ask for! It is compact in size, full function...from polar-to-rectangular, statistics, squares and cubes, nesting, and so much more. It is a 'dual-power' calculator, so the calculator can be used in total darkness (LR-44 battery required), though the solar cell will easily power it in any office lighting at night. The cell DOES NOT charge the battery, but Casio claims 3-years of use from one battery (using it one hour per day). It has a 'slider cover shell' to protect the calculator while in your pocket, too...and it 'bites' quite well...no falling off here. I purchased this after the Casio fx-82sx finally 'gave up the ghost' (with the markings worn off, keys chipped...the screen finally died). I wish Casio still made the fx-82sx still, but since they don't...guess the fx-260 solar is close enough. SOLID 5-stars, as most Casio products are! Definitely recommend!

I wish I could find one made in Japan, but this is my favorite exception. If it holds up, it qualifies as a superb little calculator.
