Much thinner which is better and is better made than stock paper filters in my opinion. There's claims on here that it helps with MPG so we'll see if it helps my turbo diesel with that, was making 36 combined on a paper filter. I have a Jetta 2011 TDI which at low rpms seems to kind of choke I guess you can say. I drove it a bit after installing and it seemed to be better, the choke didn't seem to happen but the turbo lag is still prevalent, by that I mean you want to go after coming to a stop at a stoplight in traffic but the car only wants to slowly roll... so you give a bit more gas and it's more than what you wanted and you GUN IT LOL, I know you can gently press the gas and it does work that way just sometimes it kicks up on you. F.Y.I it comes pre-oiled from factory, just plug and play, easy installation only need a 25 torx bit to unscrew the filter cap screws (8 screws need to come off). Will probably come back and update my MPG, see if it goes above 36 combined.

I've been playing with my cars off and on for over 20 years, and have heard so many false claims of power from so many products, but K&N filters are the real deal. Just purchased a MKVI Jetta last week, and installed the new filter over the weekend. Now, Im not going to claim any fantastic HP gains. BUT, you will notice an IMMEDIATE difference in throttle response and turbo lag. The engine just breathes better. Faster throttle response, faster spool up, and a much smoother acceleration. If I do more work to the car, I may consider replacing it with a full CAI, but even if I do, you better believe it will be another K&N on the end of it. added to the performance, you have a better filter than OEM, that doesn't need to be replaced anytime soon.

Installed in a 2016 Jetta sport. Makes a difference when it comes to throttle response.

I drive a 2010 B6 (Passat) with the TSI and DSG. My previous Passat was APR Stage 2+ so I missed not having any turbo lag but I don't have time to get to my guys at APTuning to install my new toys so I ordered the K&N filter. This filter is about 1/3 of the thickness of the OEM filter and fits perfectly. As soon as I started the car I noticed that it started and idled smoother. Then I put it in Drive and almost all of the turbo lag was gone! And my commute was averaging 25.5 mpg with mixed city/highway/stomping on the gas/cruising at 65. Now I am getting 30.5 mpg! Unreal! In about 9 weeks of commuting just to work and back this filter will have paid for itself! Add in all the other trips and it will be sooner than that. Now the improvements are much more noticeable and drastic on the turbo motors but they require Premium Unleaded with is 45 cents more a gallon in my area. On a non-turbo you will see better MPGs and smoother idle/acceleration. This filter allows turbos to spool quicker thus producing horsepower much faster. I have a K&N in my wife's Elantra which has a 1.8L motor and she saw nice improvements. Don't delay! Order your K&N filter TODAY!

I have heard all the complaints about K&N's being expensive and not worth it. Well, after running these things in various cars for 20 years, I think they are very much worth it. Just installed this one in a 2012 VW Jetta TDI last month. I was coming off the OEM free maintenance service and knew I was going to swap out the OEM (MANN) filter with the K&N after that program came to an end. First tank full after installing I picked up an extra 12% in fuel economy. That translates to 60 miles with the TDI. I typically get 500 miles before I fill up, if I can keep it below 70 mph. Subsequent fill ups seem to be tracking in the 11% - 14% increase over the OEM filter. Cleaning is no big deal. By the time I get the oil out of the crankcase and the oil filter and fuel filter changed, the unit is dry and ready to be re-oiled and re-installed for another 50k. At least that has been my past experience using K&N products.

I had originally purchased this filter back in 2015 when I 1st bought my car, but last year, the dealership somehow ignored the sticker about the K&N filter & threw it out, so I just bought it again & I'm so glad to have the power & fuel efficiency back. This is the quickest way to get improve both without installing a full out short ram OR Cold air intake.

This product is unbelievably amazing! You can feel the difference the moment you install it, even the sound of my car sounds a little more aggressive and I love it! Plus, you can wash it and reuse it! For some reason Amazon says it does not fit my 2015 VW Jetta SE 1.8 TSI, but that is incorrect it was a perfect fit, in case it says the same for your vehicle just go and check on the K&N website.

Esto es una reseña real y testeado diesel: Precio: indica 120.000km durabilidad( ya será menos dependiendo ubicación ) con sus lavados y tal , son como 8 recambios de los normales aprox. Rendimiento: los diesel de por si van sobrados de aire, por ello no vas a notar una mejora abismal.. de echo la mejora solo se nota en bajas, en mi caso ... Ayuda en la respuesta ya q el turbo le cuesta menos generar presión xq le entra aún más aire sin restricciones. No ganas caballos, ganas respuesta. Características: la temperatura del aire de admisión tb se reduce .. ambiente 30° / admisión 35° --- de normal alcanzaba los 39° 42° , de ahí que muchos indiquen que hay menor consumo, xq en esos grados hay mayor concentración de oxigeno para comprimir. También al tener algo más de respuesta si eres de los que le gusta pisar pasará todo lo contrario , gastarás más , a más respuesta más diesel , nada es gratis , pero en un viaje relajado si baja algo el consumo. En 50km a 130km/h de llevarlo a 6.2l bajo a 5.8l no es gran cosa, pero es algo a tener en cuenta. Recordación : si eres de los que te gusta tocar el coche, darle algún capricho al motor sin duda merecerá la pena .. si eres de los q piensas que el coche es echar gasoil y listo sigue con los de serie. Esto es como el q compra aceite a 100€ xq le gusta tener lo mejor en vez del de 60€ ... Pues esto es en vez de 25€ filtro pues 68€. Es mejor que el de serie? Si La mejora es notable en diesel ? No Se nota el sonido del filtro en diesel ? No , pasas de cafetera convencional a Nespresso , se sigue escuchando más el motor. Espero os sirva ya que llevo aquí escribiendo un buen rato.
