Quite a bit larger than the 4” on the original model. I went to the store to measure. **Q: It looks hard and cumbersome to put a replacement bag in it. Is it?** A: Here are the instructions to change the refill. 1. Remove plastic tab on refill to access the bag and pull out a few inches. 2. Turn pail upside down. 3. Open the door and insert the refill with bag facing the inside of he pail. The refill will sit at a 45 degree angle. 4. Secure door shut and turn pail upright. 5. Push button to open top. 6. Press upwards on tab below handle and pull out completely. 7. Lift the flap and reach into the pail. Pull bag upwards from the bottom of the pail. 8. Push flap down and attach bag over four side hooks. Bag must cover the flap. 9. Push handle back in place. 10. Attach scoop holder to either side and close top. **Q: What plastic recycling number is the refill case?** A: I don't know the number but the bags are not recyclable or biodegradable. However, there is much less plastic waste than with the original litter genie system. **Q: How can you tell if the bag is full?** A: When you open up the top and pull out the tray, you can easily see how full it is. I change the bag when the poop reaches just below the tray. ## Frequently Bought Together - Litter Genie Easy Roll Pail | Cat Litter Box Waste Disposal System for Odor Control | Includes 1 Continuous Refill Bag - Litter Genie Easy Roll Refill Bags (1-Pack) | Includes a 6-month long lasting roll of 24 Bags | Ultimate Odor Control Cat Litter Bags --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fr/products/422597028-litter-genie-litterlocker-pail-with-1-octagonal-refill](https://www.desertcart.fr/products/422597028-litter-genie-litterlocker-pail-with-1-octagonal-refill) --- *Product available on Desertcart France* *Store origin: FR* *Last updated: 2026-10-22*
