Far better than the 40 micron filter that came with the filter. Has a mesh inside the screen that supports it.

My well is pretty dubious. And sand jams valves. The Lakos spindown screen takes the large grit out for irrigation and wash water or for further filtering. Yes, you wash-down weekly and every few months you take the screen out and scrub with cheap stiff toothbrush. But after nearly 9 years of heavy grit it looked a bit sad so I got a new screen. Very happy.

Perfect fit but did take awhile for it to arrive.

So far this filter has lasted over 2 years and the Lakos filter housing has worked flawlessly!!
