Becker: The Complete Series

I remember watching this 20 odd years ago on TV. I had been toying with whether to buy or not for a few months, then I bit the bullet and ordered, coming from America it took a little while, the design of the dvd storage is a bit of a faff but every disc works. Don't be put off by the Region for DVD...just play it through VCL player, free download and handles pretty much everything. Becker is a breath of fresh air in this comedy void of 21st Century insanity, Ted Danson seamlessly slides into this character, Dr Becker is a master of irony and the humour is pretty much non stop. Supporting cast are all worthy of having their own shows in their respective characters. Shawnee Smith is absolutely stunning both in looks and acting. I first saw her in Summer School back in the 80s and her career has so far been excellent, comedy and horror, music (Smith and Pyle I believe). If I was you I'd buy this and watch one of the most underrated shows ever!

This series is great, we loved it. Becker is a doctor who really cares about his patients, but is always complaining about something, the behaviour of others and authorities. The characters are eccentric and funny because of the way they behave.

You should know that these discs are regionally coded for the USA! To play them in the UK, you will need a multi-region dvd player. This is not mentioned in the description!

Becker is one of my favourite US comedies, up there with Frazier, Cheers and Friends. I find it refreshing that the whole concept of the series is a lead character who openly always speaks his mind about the things that matter to him and the world around him. Sadly I do not believe a series like this will ever be made again. The “PC police” would never allow it. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who has not seen it and would like to return to a time when television was truly entertaining, without everything having some sort of secret agenda.

Ultimate quip wit, well drawn characters and perfect performances. Guaranteed to appeal to anyone who has experiences living in New York.

Loved this programme. Glad they had it on dvd in the states. I can play it in my region free DVD player here in the UK

I used to watch this on the tele way back when. Recently I saw an episode again and I just thought to myself that this is a series I want to own. Great humour and fun characters. Based in New York where a cranky Doctor with no time for fools has a practice. However, he has a heart and he cares for his patients even if the hard truths are delivered at shotgun speed.

Great show to release stress, watching Becker bicker and complain about literally everything is hillarious. Packaging is acceptable, not great but also not horrible, i have seen much worse but for $30 bucks i am not complaining. Video quality is also reasonable for DVD's from late 90s to early 2000s, don't expect much but if you can overlook average image quality this is a great show to enjoy. I wish we will get blu-ray/4K release of this show one day hopefully.

These DVDs are from US and I can't play them in my player in Europe. Really disappointing
