My first ever cordless electric mower. At first I thought it was a dud. It's really confusing how to turn on, why can't it just be a switch or button? The manual was lawyer speak so it was very unhelpful on how to turn on. DON'T USE PROFESSIONAL WORDING- speak like I'm a moron, cause i am. Then the first use- the battery only lasted 10 minutes on a full charge- kept stalling out during this too, thought it was a bad battery. But 2nd charge it went more like 20 minutes and ran solid. I got a 3rd party 6000mah battery for it, that worked great with it too, now I can mow for almost an hour of pure chaos! Overall i am happy with it, though I kinda wish I had gone for the 80v model for more power. Don't be lazy about mowing and you'll be okay, seriously just don't let that grass get too tall or you'll wish you had the 80v version too. Oh and... even on highest height setting... thing thing cuts extremly low to the ground. Like... almost putting green low. I've never seen that on a gas powered mower... is this how all electric mowers are? It's nice looking results, but I do nick a few more rocks.

Does a great job mowing my lawn. Lawn looks fantastic. Just wish the batteries would last longer. Two batteries last about 30 minutes total. My yard is flat and normally takes 40 minutes to mow. Batteries have never lasted for a full mowing of my lawn.

My old Black and Decker mower made it 14 years and batteries since and now are 1/4th the size. I went from a huge heavy car battery mower to a tiny single battery. How does this Greenworks 21" mower with a single 40v battery fare? It just mowed my entire lawn with ease using the entire charge. I'm not sure how long it took, but maybe 30-40 minutes. My old B&D used to do that when it was new, but over time it could only do half. This mower was just as strong cutting the lawn, had an easy height adjustment, and the self propelled worked great going up a steep incline I have as well. Zero complaints. This mower was also half the cost of the old B&D when I bought it. Now to see if this one can last 14 years! Fingers crossed. Edit: I've done several mowings since I've bought this and it's still fantastic. It goes through heavy grass pretty easily, and it has a slot for a spare battery as well. For the cost, this thing is just amazing. My lawn is on the smaller side and takes about 30 mins tops to do, so I can do everything in a single charge. Barely. I did buy two cheaper spares and even though they advertised being larger capacity than the brand name one, they only lasted about 2/3 as long. I'm not complaining because they're really really cheap and pretty light all things considered. You could buy 10 of these things for the cost of a replacement battery for my old B&D.

The setup was very easy, just take it out of the box and unfold the push bar and you are done. The problem I had is that this thing tried to kill me. I charged the battery and took it outside where I stood in from of the mower to put the battery in and as soon as it had power it ran me over knocking me to the ground and then climbed over me. It wasn't until it had reached my chest that I was able to pull the red eclectic breaker switch and it stopped. Assuming the death of the customers wasn't the goal of this product the quality control check failed is a spectacular manner. Now I have a rather large cut on my leg and what feel like rug burns from where the tires were spinning over my legs and torso and my shirt was a total loss since it was caught on the rear tire and was ripped off me. I never used this on the grass and it's run time was only as long as it took for it to run me down and for me to pull the breaker, plus the runtime of the attached video showing how the safety bar for the motor was incorrectly installed that resulted in the mower thinking the safety was disabled and it should engage the drive. Given the price this type of quality should never have happened. I have reached out to Greenworks but haven't had a reply as yet. I give up and will now return this Green Goblin of Death.

Got this to replace a 12 year old Greenwise 19โ mower. This one has way more power and it quieter. They added self-propelled feature makes mowing a real breeze. As long as you follow proper battery charging in storage protocol (store at around 50% charge in a cool spot indoors, and never leave it fully charged in a shed or a garage) will last a long time. Also, lithium batteries get damaged when fully drained so switch batteries soon after the charge indicator light on the battery gets down to one bar.
