All of them love this activity, especially the 3 year-old. It is definitely well designed and I found this Zoo Adventure to be much more interesting than the basic tiles one. But I don't undermine the basic tiles model because we had that basic model 2 months ago before we got this Zoo Adventure this week. So my children have developed a solid concept of how these tiles work. When they received this Magnetic Zoo Adventure, they just progressed naturally without any difficulty.The only complaint I have is the quality.The tin box is too thin and super pliable. With little strength the box and the lid can be bend and warped. Although the maker emphasizes that it is made in USA, but I'm VERY surprised of the poor and cheap quality! Another one is the adhesive magnetic pieces. I understand your idea of letting children try the tile without the magnetic first and I don't mind that adults have to do the work of adhering each magnetic piece unto the tile, but the adhesive quality is not very good. Let's see how long they will stay on to the tile pieces.
