Looks like the squirrels would destroy if made of plastic?

I guess anything is possible when it comes to squirrels and coons, but Ive run both the directional and the spin feeders from Moultrie for a couple seasons now (with having squirrels and coons on my spot) and haven't had any issues with them chewing the plastic in my experience yet.

Can you get the collar, that connects to the feeder?

I ordered a collar from Moultrie after reading one of the answers that said it doesn’t come with one. Mine came with one and Moultrie said that they all come with one.

I got one for my pond feeder. It is only throwing pellets about 5 feet is that normal? I am going to try another battery if not

Mine will throw much farther than 5’. The feeder doesn’t work well with corn! Any small piece of stalk or cob will cause it to plug. But should throw clean fish food 10’-15’ with a fully charged battery. I bought mine hoping to throw corn in 1 direction but discontinued use after frequent clogs.

How high should the spout be from the ground?

Most Moultrie feeders position the dispenser about 3' above the ground. However, please be aware that our experience with this particular unit was very poor. We tried the single stream dispenser to keep raccoons out of our regular feeders. What we found was when the feeder itself was refilled with corn and/or minerals, the motor on this unit wasn't strong enough to dispense the food given the overall weight of food in the container (normally 300lbs). In most cases, the unit made a clicking noise when the timer went off and nothing was disbursed onto the ground. You should consider a different dispenser if feeding deer.

We used this feeder for feeding the fish in our pond. The raccoons and squirrels kept getting into the old one. The design of this is perfect. Now the fish are happy and the squirrels and raccoons are frustrated .

Mixed reviews but this product worked great for me. I did not write the review until I used it for three months. Never jammed and never had an issue throwing shelled corn.

I bought this feeder in August 25, never worked as advertised, would not throw corn and motor locked up after 60 days. From the looks of the reviews this is an on going issue with the motor. Shame on Moultrie for not making this right.
