Astoundingly good digital microscope for the price
This is my second Bysameyee digital microscope- my first was the earlier model with a native camera resolution of 640x480 but somehow managed to pull off a great picture with its optics - this second unit boasts a native 4k resolution with the same 1000x zoom optic. As an added bonus, the 4k model also has a built-in Wi-Fi capability and can run wirelessly with an internal Lithium ion rechargeable battery. Because of this I’m now able to use my iPhone on the fly as a display which ended up being really useful and convenient. The included manual provides a QR code for both iOS and android that will take you to a bare-bones microscope viewer app ambiguously called ‘Wi-Fi-check’ - it gets the job done with minimal fuss by allowing you to point your phone’s Wi-Fi to the microscope which shows up like a private Wi-Fi hotspot device or access point. From there you can select your camera resolution up to 4k and go to work - Easy! Worked great on my kids geode collection. For my garage lab I’ve got an older Dell laptop running Linux and was able to install the ‘Camorama’ video app from the AUR repos without issue. It found the microscope picked up on the supported resolutions up to 4k without any extra configuration and was ready to go pretty quick. I did try this 4k model on my humble Raspberry Pi 2 but the higher resolution was a bit too much for it, so I’ll be keeping the earlier model microscope for that configuration. I also tried out the 4k model on my elderly MacBook Pro 2010 but had to scale the resolution down to 2k for the image to display properly- this wasn’t too surprising given the age of the laptop - 2k was actually quite usable. Bottom line the higher resolution camera on this microscope will require somewhat modern computer hardware to display at it's fullest capability. Usability-wise this 4k unit was fairly straightforward and easy use. The only quirk that took some experimentation to figure out was that because the power button doubles as the snapshot button, to turn the microscope off, you have to press the ‘power’ and ‘zoom +’ buttons simultaneously. Not really an issue once you know that bit. Oh and don’t forget to take the lens cap off prior to use! Given this 4k microscope goes for about as much as the earlier model and is packed with extra features, it’s an absolute bargain and a must-have tool for any hobbyist or repair tech.

Good scope, good seller, finicky focus ring
Update: I got the stand today, 6 days after getting the microscope. It, the little case it came in, and the service are all worthy of 5 stars - quick turn around, easy folks to work with, excellent quality. Pros: It will take sharp pictures. The WiFi Check app for this specific camera seems to do better than DM WiFi, but it's hard to be certain. Going forward, I intend to use the WiFi Check app as it did install on my old phone. The scope fits in the stand perfectly and everything works (as far as I can tell). Con: It is really hard to get something into sharp focus - I'm photographing paper with writing on it, so this isn't a case of me not understanding depth of field: I've been doing this for 3 years (with 2 previous microscopes like this, so I have lots of experience with these things). I don't know if the depth of field for this camera is less than my old one, or if the focusing ring is more sensitive (it is *very* sensitive), or if it's lag time on the WiFi connection - or perhaps all three. Whatever the case, I find it very hard (but not impossible) to get a sharp picture. For that reason, I'm taking away one star and noting it in this review for future buyers. This isn't a reason not to get the scope, just a note that you may need some more patience. :) Original Review: I've only just gotten this today and done tests, but so far, so good. It took about 3 hours to do the initial charge (the red LED goes off when charged). I was able to use DM Wifi (app already installed on an old Android phone that probably won't take the newer app), so that's a plus. Picture quality looks good, but I'll need to do some more images to get a better idea of its range. As everyone says, the stand is all but useless, but I had my own home-made stand that I was able to attach it to. The free stand is requested and looks much better than my home-made one, so I'm looking forward to that. My biggest concern is whether the battery will last - my previous microscope (not this brand) lasted only 23 months before it wouldn't charge - in this day and age, that's not acceptable, so I guess we'll see how this one does. I'll update this review when I have the stand and after I've done more test images. Full Disclosure: They ask for a screenshot of your 5-star review before you can get the stand.

Impressive Digital Microscope!
Full disclosure, I've only had this item for a couple hours, but I already am very impressed! I'm new to 3d printing and I'm struggling to get all the little maintenence items for just working on printed projects (debur tools, x-acto blades, loupes, calipers etc). I struggled with some of this (again, new to printing, not really sure what I do and don't want just yet), but of all the printer-y-things to arrive so far, this one is my absolute favorite! My experience was painless. I pluged it into my PC, opened up a USB camera application (in my case the built in windows camera application) and BOOM - instant success. The URL for the site on the instruction manual actually worked, and took me to a place I could actually download software, with actual instructions on how to do it (if I wanted to - for example windows camera tool doesn't provide proper measuring tools, so if you want accurate measurements from the digital view, you'll want to download one of these apps - after watching a YT video I'm confident I could put one in play with ease, but didn't see the need just yet! Still, good to know the apps are there and there's a few downloadable software options available! In addition to this microscope, I also tried some different "classic" style loupes. I didn't know what to expect as I've never used a loupe prior to this. My eyes could barely see through the lenses! Additionally the loupe LEDs were either blinding on them or downright didn't do their job (one of them was very finicky and won't stay on without tapping the LED itself to get it "just right" and it'll remain on for at least a little bit). but when it comes to honing in on "what the hell actually happened" with a 3d print, This guy is going to be a lifesaver! It's rare I leave a review, especially for a product I havent' had in my hands for that long... so I may revist and update this review at at later date, but for today, right now, this thing is awesome value and I'd reccomend picking one up if you were "on the fence". I'd read that "99% of them are the same thing with the same low quality image sensors" and looking aroud, I saw that to be pretty true. In forums I found posts with really crappy quality images from some of the other digital microscopes, so when I finally found one that appeared to use a different sensor (4k, different body form-factor, etc) and had some decent reviews... I figured it was worth a try. I haven't used the other microscopes, so I can't attest to them, but I'd wager if you are looking and ended up here - This is probably the product you are looking for! I included a couple images showing what one of my failed prints looks like from the perspective of a post-it note via cell-phone, versus through the lens of the microscope. It's actually crazy how well it does the job. The "way zoomed" picture is actually just the first zoomed picture, but cropped just to what I could fit on my screen at 100% when viewed in a browser. Little bugger does a good job!

Great Value and meets my needs
I purchased this microscope to look at knife blades while learning to sharpen them. I am still learning, but it seems to give me what I am looking for. One trick is to get the lighting right. The knife blades are shiny, and this can cause problems. I also set up my own stand because it better suited what I was doing. Another thing it helped with was seeing a burned-out circuit. My son plugged in a USB device to his laptop, and smoke came out of the USB port. We opened the laptop to see if we could find out what was wrong. I could not see the burned chip with my naked eye, but the microscope saw it very well. Luckily it was on a separate PCB and not the main motherboard. The pictures are of: Band aid - blue weave Hard glasses case - black/gray weave Foam brush - the creepy looking one Knife I sharpened - the blackish portion was from a sharpie so I could where I was sharpening it Phone screen Burned up circuit PCB with the burned-up circuit The factory edge from a new knife My camera setup. An unseen chip on another knife. Pros: Wi-Fi connection to phone. Internal light if needed. Great price for what you get. Rechargeable battery. Picture quality is good if you get the focus and lighting right. Cons: The stand is inadequate for most things. Would like to be able to zoom and focus without touching the microscope The 5-star rating is because of the value. I could spend hundreds or thousands for a better microscope, but this is all I need.

Cell Phone Is a Better Microscope
I wanted to really like this microscope, but the image quality just isn't that good. My Samsung S22 Ultra cell phone actually takes better "microscope" photos with its macro capability. I've attached two sets of side-by-side photos. The first is of a very tiny bug (about 2 mm long). The microscope wasn't able to get the entire bug in focus (left image); it has a very shallow depth of field. But even the parts that were in focus were not as sharp as with the cell phone (right image). You don't see any of the hair on the bug with the microscope, but see them clearly with the cell phone. Also, the colors were very washed out with the microscope. The second photo is a close-up of the date stamp on a penny. Although the entire image from the microscope is in focus (because it's flat), it lacks dimension and color. The reason the "2022" looks so weird on the microscope photo is because the "ring lighting" the microscope uses illuminates everything evenly from directly above, eliminating all shadows and dimension. The image on the right was shot using the Samsung S22 Ultra with a pocket flashlight from the side. You can clearly see the dimension and color in the cell phone photo. The focus ring (the gray band around the microscope) has a dead spot. So, if you adjust focus a bit too far in one direction, you can't just back it out a tiny bit. Instead, you need to rotate the ring past the dead spot (maybe around 1/16th of a turn) before the focus start adjusting in the other direction. This just makes is cumbersome to focus. I have no complaints about the Wifi Check app you need to use with this microscope. It seems to work properly for photos. I have not tried recording video with it yet. Overall, it is an "okay" microscope and for some applications it might work well, such as inspecting a circuit board or small object, but if you want good picture quality, today's cell phones can do a better job.

Company Doesn't Care About Their Customers
The product works great, didn't have much trouble getting Windows 11 to recognize it. It doesn't seem to have a zoom function, and that's okay as I found that the front clear ring can be gently removed, providing even less distance to what I needed to see. Everything about the product is fine. What isn't fine is that I sent a request to the seller, as suggested, for a free upgraded stand. I was asked about my order number, which I provided. That was April 3. As of 6/17/23 there has been no communication from the seller. I have forwarded the conversation to them once or twice with kind words asking for an update. Caveat emptor. Should they choose to respond I will reassess my rating. EDIT: Downgrading my rating to a single star. No Amazon seller should ignore a customer's inquiry. Period. 7/19/23: I received email from the bygift email address [email protected] on 7/9, with a mild apology and again asking for my order number, which I provided. The next email requested my mailing address. Their email stated, "...I am sorry we didn't serve you well months ago, but we did need your order# to verify it...we did't [sic] receive your answer." I provided my mailing address and also sent a screen shot of the previous attempts to contact them, all of which included the order number and address. I sent this info to them not to be rude, but to suggest that I had been following their instructions all along and that it clearly had been missed. As of today, however, communication has stopped again. There was no shipping confirmation, no thanks, no nothing. Just silence again. 12/17/2023: Still no communication. Bysameyee just do the right thing. Stop dropping the ball on a simple transaction. 你可以做得更好

5/5, my toothbrush and I are no longer on speaking terms.
Have you ever gazed into the abyss of your bathroom sink and thought: What tiny civilizations are thriving down there? Well, with the Bysameyee 4K Microscope, I no longer have to wonder—I have become their reluctant god. • Crystal-clear chaos: At 3840x2160P and 8 megapixels, this thing reveals everything. I started with a coin. Now I’m on first-name terms with the dust mites in my carpet. One of them winked at me. I think. • Photos & videos: With a tap on my phone, I can immortalize these discoveries in glorious HD. My camera roll is now 70% magnified beetle antennae and one unfortunate close-up of my scalp (which I can never unsee). • Portable wonder machine: It fits in my pocket, so I’ve taken it outside to examine leaves, bark, and one suspiciously smug-looking aphid. My neighbors think I’ve joined a nature cult. In a way, I have. • Lighting crew included: The 8 LEDs turn even the shadiest speck of lint into a Broadway star. Adjustable brightness means I can interrogate a grain of rice like it’s under a police spotlight. • Compatibility galore: iOS, Android, Mac, Windows—even Linux. Basically, if it has a screen, it can now broadcast the shocking truth about your kitchen sponge. After about four hours of rechargeable exploration, I usually need to sit down and reconsider everything I know about the visible world. Teachers, students, hobbyists—sure. But honestly? This microscope is for anyone who enjoys the thrill of saying “WHAT IS THAT?!” every five minutes. In short: If you want to feel like Jacques Cousteau, Darwin, and David Attenborough all at once—without leaving your couch—this is the gadget. Proceed with curiosity (and maybe a stiff drink for when you zoom in on your own skin).

very good microscope for the price
The first thing to know is that a good heavy-duty microscope with good optics for industrial applications costs several hundred dollars. If that is what you need, you are fishing in the wrong pond. However, if all you need is a light-duty microscope with mediocre optics for hobbies or occasional work use, this one is probably the best in this category and price range. The next thing to consider is magnification. Ignore the claimed magnification numbers on all microscopes in this price range. They are lies. There is a specific formula for calculating magnification, and these scopes aren't using it. Even if those numbers were true, they are the wrong thing to base your decision on. Higher magnification is not necessarily better. A very-high magnification might be too much for your purposes. What matters in magnification is (1) does it magnify enough for your purposes, and (2) is the resulting image clear and detailed? I can't answer #1 for you, but I can tell you that all of the other microscopes in this price range that I have seen fail #2. Those other microscopes have a terrible 0.3 megapixel image sensor and give you a puny 640x480 pixel image. You can "see" the object that you have the microscope pointed at (because it occupies the whole frame), but it's just a blur. You don't have enough pixels to make out any of the detail. This microscope has an 8 megapixel image sensor and gives you a 3840x2160 pixel image. That gives you lots of pixels to resolve lots of detail. What you need to determine for yourself is whether this microscope magnifies enough for whatever it is you are planning to use it for. The attached image is of a US dime placed directly under the microscope. That is the magnification you get.

Pretty Good for A Low-Priced Unit
Recieved unit today, so this is initial review immediately after setup. As already mentioned in other reviews, the stand that comes with the unit is passable, not great. It does come with a silicon "sticky" base so if you have a relatively smooth surface to stick it to (glossy table top / glass table top) it sorta works, but is therefore pretty limited functionality However, the Camera itself works pretty well : - Wifi Connection (ios) using the Wifi Check app Works well right out of the box with the app; Can be used while charging as well. Downside is that since it uses WiFi connection and not bluetooth, you won't be able to access the internet while using the camera. - On Windows PC Xplodeview and AMCAP (that was listed on the manufacturer website) worked pretty well. However I couldn't get CoolTech Measuring tool to work. Good resolution and easy to use overall, instructions on manufacturer website pretty helpful. The true magnification of the camera is probably closer to maybe 300X (or 400?X) rather than 1000X, but is way more than sufficient for my purpose

Quality high.
Good quality product. Works well on PC, better on tablet as the zoom buttons currently only work from a phone or tablet app; image quality is pretty good. Focus works well. I'm getting the up grade stand so I'll wait for that. Otherwise well satisfied.
