Network Security Essentials: Applications and Standards

What can I say about the Network Security Essentials textbook that hasn't already been said? It's...a textbook. It...contains pertinent information about NetSec. It...is really heavy. Seriously, it was the exact book I needed, if you searched by ISBN then have no fear, it's the book you're looking for!

I used this book together with some tutorial sessions during a lecture course at JCU singapore. The content and the additional material provided was very useful.

I use it for school and I liked it

Decent read for anyone taking on netsec but do not expect vendor-specific detail here (nor should you be).

If I didn't need it for class - I would not have bought this. Very dry. There has to be other books that aren't as cumbersome.

If you're like me, you're probably getting this as a required text for a college class. This book is not a good one unless you are somewhat advanced in Cryptography - it is covered in jargon and complex diagrams/equations, not to mention that it's extremely dry.
