This works slowly, it can take a week after using it for full darkening to happen, so do not overdo it. I find that once a week will take the edge off grey hair and leave it plausibly a bit darker, enough to stop people treating you like a white haired old fool without making it obvious you colour your hair ( although nothing wrong with men colouring their hair, women have been doing it for ever ). By the way, use gloves when applying it and keep an old towel for drying you hair after you used this product, as it will make dark patches on towels. Use gloves because this product attaches itself to keratin of your hair and your nails are also keratin, so you will end up with dark nails no matter how you scrub them afterwards. I am very wary of using any separate conditioner on my hair because I suspect that a coating of conditioner on your hair may well prevent this product from working.

It’s turned my silver hair a nice dark colour after just 4 shampoos. Would recommend. Make sure you rinse it all out your hair though. It will stain your towel blue and stain bathroom tiles. That’s the only drawback.

We weren’t sure what to expect but my husband has been using this now for about 3 months and his hair is noticeably darker / less grey! He’s late 50’s, with a strong head of hair, which is salt n pepper grey. He is now using it every other wash, so on average twice a week, to maintain the colour. He didn’t want to dye his hair and have a sudden & dramatic colour change, and this shampoo has created a naturally more blended colour. Others have reported issues with staining of fingers, nails, shower area but he’s not experienced any of this. What isn’t entirely clear is whether to wash his hair once or twice with the shampoo, each time, as with regular shampoo you wash hair twice then condition. So what he’s doing is washing his hair first with regular shampoo, then, after rinsing, using GX, and forgoing any conditioner. He says his hair feels cleaner doing it this way, as when he only washes it once his hair doesn’t feel squeaky clean!

I ordered 2. First few days were OK, I could see the difference to my grey hair and the colour was only going to my nails which I was ok with cleaning it later, however I just had a shower and this time it’s all over my hands and nails see pics. It’s good but you now kow the side affect. I’m only doing this review so you know what to expect. In simple words , it does the job slowly but expect the colour to go on your hands, I might try with gloves on next time to see if it helps.

Absolutely horrible, I am concerned if this is actually a legitimate product. I used this very brand and usually buy this product from Tesco and have never had an issue. I had this one from Amazon and it was truly horrific to use. Never again.

I wish I knew about this shampoo years ago. It’s taken years off my age, affordable, looks very natural, it’s easy to use, and the change is slow enough that no one will notice you’ve dyed your hair. It’s also so simple, just use it instead of your normal shampoo as part of your regular routine. The only extra task is to remember to rinse your hands thoroughly after applying and removing it just in case it dyes your nails (which has never been an issue for me). It’s also worth noting that the longer you leave it on before rinsing the quicker you’ll see results. Day to day I leave it on for 2 to 5 minutes, but sometimes 10 min before a date or party. Just be warned the change will be more noticeable if you leave it on longer. I recommend taking a photo of your hair before you start, as if you stick to leaving it in for 2 minutes per application the transformation is very slow you won’t notice it. But compare your hair two weeks later and you’ll have far less noticeable grey - so stick with it. You will still have some grey hairs and lighter hairs, but that looks far more natural. There’s nothing less convincing than going from grey hair to dying it single block of pitch black. Quick caveat. My natural colour is dark brown (besides the grey hair), and I imagine the shampoo will work for any tone of brown/black hair, but I don’t know how effective it would be for blonde hair.
