They fold to be flat, but you have to be careful when folding or popping up because if you do it with too much force, I think you could snap and break them easily. They are fine quality as long as you are gentle. I love the colors but kind of wish they sold single color multi packs (I like matching things ha!). These are wonderful for organizing smaller items!

When I ordered these I was looking for a quick fix to my desktop clutter (I'm a crafter) and had low expectations for sturdiness and quality - was I ever pleasantly surprised. They snap together quite easily and form a very sturdy little desktop "milk crate"-like container. The colors are nicer in person then they were on screen and I love that they do stack quite well (not wobbly). Very impressed with these little desktop crates - they are cute to look at, easy to put together and stack nicely. (Keep in mind they are small as the pictures might distort that a bit) Will likely purchase more of these in the future.
