Does the ID window come out of the wallet if do not care to use it?

Yes the id window can come out on a permanent basis.  I ordered one and used a razor knife to cut through the stitching and removed the id window.  I do not need that many card slots.  without the id window there are 8 card slots, the id window has an 4 additional card slots which when added to the wallet card slots = 12.  Does one really want that many card slots, that would make the wallet very fat and perhaps not too comfortable to sit on.  
There are also a double dollar compartment in the back of the wallet.
Lastly there is a slot on each side of the open wallet adding an additional 2 card slots.  That would make 10 card slots in all, add the flip out id window and it is 14 card slots.  How many credit cards would one want to carry?  I carry 6 and think that is too many.  Hope this fully explains this wallet.  BTW, the wallet is very good looking and very durable as well as soft leather.  But it, it is a very good product at a very good price.

Does this wallet have space for putting cash?

Yes, When you open the Wallet it has two spaces in the back like any other wallet for money . I use the back space for my cash and you have a space for personal cards

Do you have to do any care for the leather over time?

We do not recommend any protective treatment for our wallets other than to protect it from any abrasive chemicals or stains that can damage the surface.  People that love using our leather products particularly value the weathered look that comes with regular use and passage of time. Leather is a natural product - and it ages. Also, it absorbs the traces of life around it - the natural body oils that your body produces, sunlight, heat, water, moisture, dirt, dust - the leather absorbs it all.
A patina is something unique to natural products - leather gets it, so does wood - it's the hallmark of a high quality genuine leather.  Over time with daily use a naturally developed patina - a soft sheen will develop on the surface of your leather wallets that will impart an additional character,  a personality to your wallet.  It's like your stamp of your unique ownership - the use and weathering of your wallet will tell your unique story.  So the more you will handle your wallet around use it naturally in your own way -  the patina will come up gradually.  And yes, the scratches and scrapes that gather on the surface are also an integral part of the patina. However, if you are an extremely careful user that wipes you leather stuff clean after using it every time, and maybe use leather cleaner and conditioner once in a while, and store it most carefully - the patina will take much longer to set in and wallet will remain looking same as when purchased for longer.  And please don't forget - a patina does not affect the longevity or sturdiness of a product. If anything, it only increases the beauty, the value and the feel of  your Bull Guard leather wallet.

Made in india. Looks ok but is it horse,sheep,goat,pig ? I think it will be ok but it bugs me it isnt usa made.
