Great learning tool for kids and adults!
This was a really cool gift. Both my 9 year old and 7 year old loved it! I even tried it out. The app was easy to use and worked right away when we opened the book. The painting set with the planets was an added bonus. Great learning tool!

Fun- have to download a different app for each book
Great quality, nice books, the VR part is really fun. You do have to download a different app for each subject

Interesting when the app works, with caveats (and a small phone)
I wanted to adore this. Sometimes, when it works, it's pretty cool - you put a phone into the glasses and stare at a page until it loads some VR info to immerse you. Great for little minds right? I'm surprised, though, that my kid wasn't super into it and hasn't really asked to do it more. In fact, he's more interested in the extras that come with it, it seems. Part of this is the app is junk, which is required for the VR obviously. It doesn't work on all the pages. There are also zero instructions or ways to troubleshoot - you just kind of stare at the page and hope it loads. The VR clips itself are fine, though nothing interactive and amazing. It seems like the app does have some interactive experiences however they absolutely do not work for us. Judging by all the 1-star reviews on the app store, we are not alone. The biggest thing (pun intended) is you can't use a modern large phone. So we had to dig out an old iPhone 6 we had lying in some drawer and its battery lasts about 10 minutes a go. I didn't notice anything about that when deciding to buy this, which is also unfortunate. So, it comes with a great book and some side activities, and when it works it's interesting for a bit. Prepare to be frustrated and under-whelmed though. Cautiously recommended, and not worth the price.

The Ultimate Learning Tool!!
As a homeschool teacher/parent I can honestly tell you that nothing comes close to the Abacus Virtual Reality series for VR learning! And this new Galaxy edition is no different when it comes to intellectual advancement and outright educational thoroughness. But even beyond that, it’s beautifully designed to stimulate their creativity and inspire their Ingenuity and Will to think outside the box. I love how the program is crafted so my kids growing desire to interact gives birth to more new interest of information, which in turn, makes them crave more interaction to achieve more stimulating info. It’s a delightful catch twenty-two that helps their mind grow in outstanding ways, and before they even realize it, time has flown by and they are left wanting more stimulation of learning . The ingenious VR goggles, the colorful and highly informative publications, and even the personal one-on-one experiments included, make this complete set a refreshing cut above the rest. It works terrific with all of our IOS systems (iPhone, Mac Pro laptop and iPad), and they can shuffle from one device to the other without missing a beat. As a dedicated homeschooler, I couldn’t even begin to gather up all of the intriguing and vital lessons and tools into one place, and yet Abacus VR has achieved just that. Well done!!

Great educational tool, fun, very fast setup, but I expected more
This would be a great educational tool for homeschool or just adding on to any outer space curriculum. It gives fun facts mixed with general information and has good visuals to match for the most part. Unfortunately there are no interactive features so this is strictly a listen and watch set up. I can't see my kids going back to each video more than once or twice so once they get through the book, there's not much use for it. Also you should know that every learning topic is NOT a full immersive experience. Some of them you are in outer space and you can spin around and see space like you were actually there. Most of them however you are standing in a weird little classroom with a TV screen with information and videos playing on it, not actually in the experience. This was a big disappointment for my children and actually made them put the headset down. There is no way of telling the immersive experience versus classroom videos from looking at the book either, which was a little frustrating. I've used several phone-compatible virtual reality sets before and this one is on par with the rest when it comes to how realistic and immersive the experience is.. and is what I would expect for the price range. If you're looking for full immersion, this is not for you.. but for the price point it does a pretty good job. The video quality is ok. There is a sliding adjustment for each lens to get the best visual, but after trying every adjustment combination I still couldn't get a truly clear focused picture. They also move very easily and I found myself accidentally sliding them while holding the headset onto my face. The videos are very short so it caters to children with a low attention span, but I feel like a lot of the videos were too short and we were having to constantly look at the book for the next topic. Other things to know: -I will say that this is by far one of the fastest and easiest to setup! You download and open the app, click start, insert phone into headset, and you're rolling. I wish all setups were as simple and fast! - for the topics that ARE immersive, the experience is really cool. Semi- feels like you're actually there. - fits my phone with and without the case. - headstrap is durable elastic material with 2 separate adjustment options on top and around circumference of the head, so it'll fit small children through adults (it may fit, but not necessarily comfortably). - easy to use. When device is on, just open the book and look at one of the pages you want to learn about. You will see a blue dot with a status circle appear on the goggle screen similar to a website loading icon. Takes about 3 seconds for it to load and then you're in the video. - it is made of hard plastic around the nasal bone area without padding so this was a little uncomfortable and I had to hold the slightly away from my face to avoid pain, even after adjusting the straps.. my children did not have this problem as much.

This was a birthday gift for my 5 yr old grandsons. They love it. I only gave 4 stars because it arrived with the cover torn off. That was a disappointment.

It was okay. Not worth it for the price.

Nice idea, but the tech just isn't there yet. This relies on your smartphone and maybe that's why the graphics are mediocre. Headset is also too small even for a 7 year old. VR should be in the glasses - not on a phone.
