My application was a cover for my knee similar to a knee pad you might purchase at any hardware store. The knee pad is concave, about 6" deep and 8" wide, and 3/16" thick. It has the same characteristics as a store bought knee pad...firm, flexible, strong. I believe if you were to make something like a hammer handle by moulding 2-3 sheets, it would be close to a fibreglass hammer handle...just lacking the support fibres. If you can be more specific with your question, I'll do my best to answer it. **Q: What color are these; white or clear?** A: They are white and when they heat up they become clear so you know when to mold them. Once cooled in their shape they are white again. You can paint them after too **Q: Can you use a hair dryer to soften this enough to mold?** A: A hair dryer for 2 minutes might work...a wall paper remover heat gun would definitely work..boiling water is only 212 degrees, and the product remains malleable down to nearly room temperature and you can manipulate it with your bare hands...give it a try...I'd take a chance on it. **Q: Is this paintable? What type of paint is best?** A: Yes, you can paint the part after it cools with acrylic paints or even use permanent markers. If you want to spray paint it, use a paint made specially for plastics. Without coloring, the part will be white.
