Every home should have one of these. It is used to remove childproof tops. Just hook it over the childproof top and press down to lever the childproof top off of the regular top that is underneath the childproof top. It works on almost anything. If the container is a small bottle (pill bottle) with soft plastic sides, the sides of the bottle will collapse because the opener is too sturdy. This is a sturdy, very well designed opener that is well built and high quality. Using this opener is safer than taking the top off of the bottle and then removing the childproof portion of the top with a knife, fork prong, scissors, icepick, etc. After childproof top is removed, you are left with an easy to remove cap.

Perfect! This is just what I needed. These however to bend a little and you’ll have to bend them back. My suggestion is to try to snap off safety caps fast! Not sure how long this will last, but it’s good for now.

I grew up in a drugstore and remember when a sales rep gave some of these to my dad to use in the pharmacy. We must of popped the safety caps off a thousand pill bottles without a problem. Same design. I am old now, and wanted to make my life easier and remove some of these caps off thing as I live alone. On my first package the thing just bent. Junk. I suspect it is now made of a much cheaper metal.

Delivered as described on time. The item is extremely effective to remove bottle caps from prescription bottles. This item is used by pharmacists to remove bottle caps.

Does the trick but the metal isn't study enough. It bends if you try to decap some of the thicker caps. As a pharmacist in a super busy pharmacy, this isn't an industrial grade tool. Would be fine for occasional use, but I wouldn't recommend it for a pharmacy. I use it only for decapping liquids that our mounted, sturdy decapper can't reach.

I am a retired pharmacist and I had one of these tools in my pharmacy that worked wonderfully over the years. I need one to open child-proof caps for my wife and son, and I bought this. Contrary to some reviews said about it being easily bent, I found this quite strong and acceptable (at least for smaller bottle caps). It does not work as smoothly as my old tool but certainly sufficient, and hence the 4 stars.

Removes safety caps easily.

I use this to convert childproof caps into regular twist off caps on my over the counter medications. I have small hands so I have a hard time opening them. I am a 31 year old man living in a child-free, pet-free home so I don't need childproof caps. It has held up well over the last year or so on every childproof cap I come across, even on the small ones on the cleaning solvent for my guns.
