I bought this after seeing Japanese Car Camper Tabiie on YouTube show using it to measure out rice for cooking a meal. It has a cap for measuring up to 1 cup (fill the cup lid). Holds just over 4 kg of rice - I managed to transfer all the bags I had sitting around into it & filled it up! It's air tight to keep bugs out. Nice handle on top, comfort grip on the spine. Top has a spout for directing rice into the cup & twist locks in place. Handle carefully & don't drop it. As the Japanese folklore goes - there are 7 gods who oversee each grain of rice, and wasting it is an insult to the people who grew & harvested it. Previously, I would just twist-tie an open bag shut & store that in a zip lock bag. Now I can give my rice a proud place in a stylish storage container like in Japan.

We cook rice quite a bit in our house. I buy the larger bags of rice (though not the 25 pounders…). I used to keep it in a gallon ziplock and that worked fine. Then I found this. Game. Changer. First off: this this is sturdy and strong. I’ve accidentally dropped this thing full of rice and it did not pop open like I would have expected. It stayed sealed and did not break! Second: it is super useful! 1 cup of rice is the perfect helping for our household. Being able to measure that in the handy attached measuring cup/lid is perfect. I can then use a separate measuring cup for water only then dry it and put it away without having to add any dirty dishes. Third: it is easy to handle. Despite my dropping it, it is actually easy to handle. There is a handle at the top and it had contours on the side making it easy to grip when pouring. I have small hands so if I can grip it, just about anyone can. It’s a good size, too. Any larger would make it too heavy. My only suggestion would be to make it wider and shorter. It doesn’t fit standing up in my cabinet nor will it slide in on it’s side since it is too tall/long for my cabinet. Instead, it slides into my pantry on it’s side. Which is fine - one side is flat so it does stand up on it’s side and the handle on the top makes it super easy to get in and out (I’m sure that is all by design which makes this such a great piece). I’ve gotten used to it being in the pantry, but would like the option of having it in the cabinet with the other starches.

This actually holds a lot of rice. It takes up a small amount of cupboard space and it is easy to dispense a quantity of rice. There is less spillage than trying to pour rice from a bag. I might buy another one for a different type of rice.

This will hold a 42 ounce box of white rice, but not 1 grain more. Perfect for my needs—just what I needed.

Measuring cup is the same size as the one for my rice cooker. Perfect for storing small amounts of rice.

We purchased 20lbs of rice from Costco and were looking for containers to store them in, deciding on these for the pantry. Arrived and is clearly a quality product, well designed, and with actually useful features a normal storage container doesn't offer. It's size is smaller than we expected, holding about 3lbs of rice and not, as stated, 4lbs. Price is high for a storage solution. We ended up returning it. Instead we purchased 2 large jars from the Asian store to store most of it -- for a quarter the price -- and an Oxo storage container we already had for 2-3 lbs of rice in the pantry.

My workout clothes can really stink. My wife bought me some special auxiliary detergent helper (granular) to use in addition to Tide to get the stink out. But it was up to me to find a way to store and measure out exactly a cup into each load - the paper box the stuff comes in is trash. This "rice" container holds and seals all 4 lbs perfectly. Organizes into the cabinet above easily. Doles out 1 cup at a time perfectly. And looks to last fine (really like handle on top). Do I use it for rice? No. Do I trust it implicitly now to hold 4 lbs of any non-toxic dry goods? YES

I’m using these to store a variety of goods, especially rice, flour and pasta. They work great. I particularly appreciate the pour spout and measuring cup. They seal very well against humidity. Highly recommended. I had a small issue with one order. The company was fabulous to deal with. I’ve repeated my order once and I think I’ll order again in the future.

Maybe what I received are different (i bought 2) from what other buyers got but I got are really of poor quality. One of the worst plastic products that I’ve ever bought. The lid don’t fit well, one doesn’t even sit flat on a flat surface and has a small hole! I wouldn’t have bought them if I knew how bad they were.

I purchased this container to store my dog food, what I liked about it is the fact that it seals, so the food is kept fresh. The scoop that comes with it is very handy too. Good practical purchase!!
