Please note that the plastic plates of the name badge magnets are approx. 4.5 x 1.3 x 0.5 cm/ 1.8 x 0.5 x 0.2 inches in size, stainless steel plates are about 4.5 x 1.3 x 0.13 cm/ 1.8 x 0.5 x 0.05 inches.

Description says number of items 100. does that mean only enough for 50 name badges? because you are going to need 2 magnet parts to make it work.

Can you attach a large plastic name tag to these?

That depends on how big is large and how heavy it is. I do 1 x 3-inch wood name tags and they work great. The magnets a very strong. They are also not expensive so try them.
