If a sensor goes out, both systems will give you a false reading. If you want a secondary monitor get 4 more sensors then you would have a good secondary system. **Q: all tanks are showing whatever the fresh water tank is reading. Might replacing this monitor fix that problem?** A: All is reading if there is problem for frish cheack sensore **Q: Im confused. Does this come with the sensors to put onto/ into the tank? Or do i have to buy those separate?** A: It does not come with the sensors. It has the standard hook-ups that snap onto the sensor ends. My tank came with the sensors in it. **Q: what sensors work best with this ?** A: Kib manufacturers the sensor packs.
