Is trigger for igniter only or does it also control gas flow?

Only for ignition the blue knobs is for gas flow

Does this have an automatic shutoff feature?

No...... manual shutoff valve. Has screw knobs to regulate

The valve is broken. did not completely turn off. lost one bottle of gas. when turned back on it locked up. is it warranteed only 3-4 months old?

I’ve already written a negative review. Lit once and after shutting it off placed it on the workbench for future use, the guarantee was over, the gas had leaked out of the bottle and when putting on a new bottle it would not ignite! Piece of junk and Amazon.com continues to let them market through them.
