Our moss pole don't need to be wet with water.

I'm sorry I don't know......but they are as described...and they work for my plant.

Would the stake damage the plant?

I have in most of my very large plants. They have thrived since I added the miss stakes

I don't understand your question. The poles stick right into the flower pot. They are sturdy. As my plant gets taller I plan to stack the other one on top to make a taller pole.
