Review: Outstanding, full stop. - This is my second pair of these: When I moved overseas, I left them behind, and I missed them dearly. Now I remember why. They are outstanding. I can't imagine better monitors in this price range and I bet they would stand up to even more expensive models .
Review: Brilliant boxes, JBL rules! - They are small enough, so easy to transport, but give plenty of really high quality sound, almost surprising. But then JBL has been doing HiFi for many decades and they are still some of the best on the market. 2 boxes easily fill a medium sized dancing hall, not even at full power. I guess if you play tracks where only low frequencies and heavy beat are important you can buy something cheaper. But if you want the whole spectrum, these will not disappoint. Next step up means 3-5 times more expensive studio boxes but those only pay off in a studio, where you have control of the walls and geometry.

**Q: Which audio leads do i need for the speaker to laptop?**
A: The speakers allow either Balanced XLR or 1/4 inch jack, but you’ll probably need to connect via an audio interface (something like the Focusrite 2i2) rather than going directly to a laptop.

So: laptop -> audio interface -> cables (XLR or 1/4”) -> speakers

There MAY be a way to connect directly to a laptop, using some sort of converter cable, but it isn’t something I’ve ever done

**Q: does this have hiss / white noise?**
A: Plugged into moog matriarch. No sign of hiss or white noise.

But then JBL has been doing HiFi for many decades and they are still some of the best on the market. 2 boxes easily fill a medium sized dancing hall, not even at full power. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Accurate and loud

I needed something to replace my Presonus Eris 4.5 monitors which had gone faulty. With minimal space options were limited, but these JBLs (298 x 185 x 231 mm) were compact enough to just fit. Very impressed - great sound with tight, solid bass, uncoloured response and loads of volume. They have auto power saving and will snooze without a signal, so they can be left powered on.
