Stormlight Archives HC Box Set 1-4: The Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, Oathbringer, Rhythm of War

I absolutely adore this series. I started the Cosmere with Mistborn, but this is entree. Well written characters feel so real and relatable. Can sometimes be a touch slow but the last quarter of every Sanderson book is just absolute gold. Mental illnesses are protrayed and feel respectfully handled. Just peak fiction

Such a great series! You love the characters and character growth. You go through so much emotion throughout the whole series. The world creation has so much depth to it. It is a big series and you’re not quite sure yet. Start the cosmere with Mistborn series before the Stormlight series.

I love the extent to which Brandon has created characters I love dearly whose characterization drives the story, but he cooks up plots that are equally compelling. As a nonbinary reader, “hearing” Kaladin and other heroes using neutral pronouns for the Sibling without making it a big deal actually made me tear up a bit. I love these stories so much, and I cannot wait to crack open the fifth installment. This package is awesome in that it allows you to search a name or term and go back as far as the initial exposition to refresh your memory if you’re a slow reader with little free time like me, though Sanderson also does a great job of re-introducing concepts as they become relevant without redundancy. I had such fun following Shallan, Kaladin, Dalinar, Szeth, Adolin, Lift, and several more through their struggle to determine what is worth fighting for and to seek it while balancing very realistic mental and physical health struggles along the way. Tears were shed many times. This is my first series by Brandon Sanderson but with all the hints that Hoid and Sigzil are connected to other series in the Cosmere, I would be a fool to let it be my last.

Books are 5/5. However the case arrived torn which kind of sucks.

I am a Spanish-speaking reader who decided to reread The Stormlight Archive in English, and this hardcover box set truly exceeded my expectations. Fantastic series and a great boxed set.

Great set, super good packaging so the book set as well as the box was well protected. The hardcovers are huge but I kinda like that, it’s that or tiny print or super wide, so I’ll take it how it is over anything else. The dust covers are well designed and the actual hardcovers are nice too. The underlying hardcovers are all different distinct colors, so a little abnormal compared to sets I’ve got in the past in a series where they’re all similar colors, but I gotta say it’s growing on me. Inside of dust cover for Rhythm of War has a big map which is dope. Was also very worth the money to buy the set as a whole compared to individually.

If it seems a little confusing at first with the volume of unique names and alien-like language peppered within, stick with it. This book definitely does not disappoint. The story and characters suck you in and the writing is very clever and intelligently laid out I loved it and can’t wait to read the second book.

Los libros son una joya, Stormlight Archive es una mega recomendación, los personajes son increíbles y desarrollados a un nivel más profundo que los otros trabajos de Sanderson (vaya, es una saga más larga). Estoy enamoradísima de la historia, si te gusta la fantasía, batallas de honor, tramas que van más allá de personas peleando con espadas y personajes y momentos súper épicos, estos libros te van a encantar. Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination.
