The knurling makes it easy to find when you are looking through the eyepiece and your finger does not slide. I also like that with the knurling you can use it to turn the camera on/ off. The padded, rubberized grip is nice. I also found the button quieter than some of the other buttons (not sure why). I prefer the concave button to the convex; easier to find when looking through the eyepiece and a nice feel for me. Due to the size of the button it sits a little high (not flush with the top of the camera). This is not a criticism as the size of the button makes it more useful. I just try to be careful when putting it in a case to not stress the button. Overall a well machined, quality product.
