I emailed their service dept. You can replace the lettering, which makes me thing it can also be rearranged. I'm going to change mine to GEMS as I just can't get used to SMEG being close to food I'm eating..

So many high end toasters are cheap heating elements and flimsy mechanisms or buttons; with a costly exterior. Does this have a well made interior?

It toasts my bread perfectly. I love it. But I don't know about cheap and flimsy. It is a simple toaster that works well. And it looks awesome
