Waste of time, does not work

Works well. It is slow going, but will cut through a tap.

I broke an 1/8” cobalt drill about 1/16” beneath the surface of a piece of 5/16” plate while drilling a pilot hole. I needed to get the broken drill out of the hole. This carbide drill bit extractor is essentially harder than the drill and is able to cut through it. I thought for sure I was throwing $13 away, but I was wrong. This ground right through the bit and I kept going through the other side of the plate. I bought the 1/8” bit and I’d get other sizes if I ever need them again.

I broke off a drill bit drilling out a stud while being in a hurry due to working the rain. Normally I’d weld a nut on it, but I didn’t have access to a welding machine. I ordered this bit and the rescue bit. This one is cheaper and worked, but was very slow going. The rescue bit was over twice the cost, but much faster. I gave that bit a 5 star

As a diesel mechanic I come across my fair share of broken bolts, and I always dread trying to drill them out because I know inevitably I’m going to break off a drill bit making the situation 10 times worse. That is precisely what happened a couple weeks ago and was searching for a diamond drill bit when I came across this one. I figured it was worth a try and I could not be any happier with its performance. It slowly but surely ate the broken drill bit with ease and the cutting edges still looks brand new. I don’t often brag on a tool unless It blows me away, and that is what happened with this.
