Do I need my cell phone nearby to the tool to use the extra features?

Yes, you will need to connect via Bluetooth to control extra features. However those features are limited, pretty much to controling “soft start on and off” and “LED on time after releasing the trigger”. I’m a gadget guy so bought this Bluetooth add on but this thing is kinda unnecessary option.
